Are there any plans to add the oscillator to the mod sources? And also a way to have the curve signal mixed into the audio pathway? This would give some amazing possibilities. I'm guessing we'll be waiting for cypher to get that going on though.

The modulation system runs at control rate (approx 1.5 kHz) so it's not suitable for that, unfortunately.
Curve signal in the audio pathway? You mean with an oscillator/filter as input, so in other words use the curve as a waveshaper?

The Mymble - the curve snap is set by XStep and YStep, both are expressed as powers of two. So 8 is 256 values, 4 is 16 values. To get 12 steps exactly, double click your curve knob & set to 3.586. But yes - easy, intuitive snapping on the step seq is a good feature request & something we'll consider.

Ah ha! Well that magic number will certainly keep me going for the time being, thanks for that! Can't for the life of me get a solid 24 steps but I think 12 and 16 steps covers most of everything I'll want, if not everything.
Cheers for that!
Update: just been playing with it. Oh yes, that'll do nicely.
love the fact you put the Amber formant filter in there too. Bring on the gamma goblins!
Also, on the phase thing, I've been playing and thinking about this and the fact its a super osc sort of makes up for it/deals with it in a different way. Just nudging a bit of a square wave into the saw changes the shape and has an effect much like shifting the start position. So I'm good on that one too

The magic number for 24 steps is 4.585. You can calculate others with a base2 log calculator:

Pretty geeky, I know

Hey, secretly, we're all geeks here.
Of the coolest kind, but geeks all the same.
I'll save that link for later, I'm sure I'll have a need for it.

I have to say Strobe is by far the best analogue sounding vst Ive tried. The organs are real nice. It sounds warmer and bigger than Diva. Very tempting to buy this. Wish I didn't go for Hive. If only I could trade the two.

If you save a host preset (fxp/fxb in VST hosts, aupreset in AU etc.) that'll save the whole 8 patch setup.
Standalone there is presently no way, but it's on the list to address.

Does the cubase weird proprietary vst preset format work also? I really don't use preset saving very often but this feature actually makes presets useful and makes programming presets entertaining again. I haven't spent time just making presets outside of a songwriting process since I dumped all my hardware synths.Angus_FX wrote:If you save a host preset (fxp/fxb in VST hosts, aupreset in AU etc.) that'll save the whole 8 patch setup.

Thanks for the info.

Cubase uses fxp/fxb, no? Either way - yes, any host-save will save all eight at once.

I'm late, but yes I was wanting to use the curve as an audio wave shaper.Angus_FX wrote:The modulation system runs at control rate (approx 1.5 kHz) so it's not suitable for that, unfortunately.

Ever since vst 3 cubase uses a different save file that nothing else supports. I think it still loads fxp/fxb files, but I don't think it will let you save them anymore. I checked earlier and It does save the entire state of the plugin with its wonky proprietary presets so that's awesome for me until you guys add it in as a feature in the synth.Angus_FX wrote:Cubase uses fxp/fxb, no? Doesn't work that way, I'm afraid - sorry! There's a waveshaper on the sub, drive stages on the filter & amp - and a distortion / overdrive / waveshaper you can insert in the FX chain.I'm late, but yes I was wanting to use the curve as an audio wave shaper.
One thing we could fairly easily do is add some more extreme Euro-inspired shapers in the FX chain. Was playing around with wavefolders yesterday - lots of fun noises with those, and sound pretty decent at high sample rates.
Thanks for the heads-up re Cubase. Wonder why they did that - FXP/FXB is their own standard, for goodness sake.
