I am quite new to the iPad music making world and I'm searching for a groovebox, preferably with sample playing capabilities that would run on an iPad 2 and have Elektron/Volca style parameter locking per step ability (not just simple automation). Is there anything like that?
My favorite app so far has been Samplr.
A groovebox with p-locks for the iPad?

P lock make sense when you don't get a tactile screen and encoders.
P lock is just a trick for hardware devices to manage automation, it's not something very ergonomic for an Ipad.
Korg Gadget offer step automation that can be recorded and edited, it's more ergonomic than any P lock system for instance.

I am not quite familiar with the terminology. Step automation might be what I'm looking for. The only problem with Korg Gadget is my crappy old iPad 2. I don't think it will run on it.
