So I'm insane about this type of plugin. I still use sonitex all the time even though it crashes on a regular basis. I also own speakerphone which is like sonitex with a whole extra digital weirdness section and a huge collection of IRs. So things were sounding nice and warm and gritty in the demos, but I'm curious how crazy this thing can get. It's cheap enough for me to pretty much buy on spec, but I'll be bummed out if I can't make it sound like a record that's bent in half sampled onto a cheap mini cassette with a broken tape and then sampled into an old rz1 with a short in its input converters. So can the wow get really drunkenly wobbly, are there modulation waveform options for it, can the distortion get to blown speaker levels, and are there simple band limiting filters? I didn't see those in the demo video, but I was working on something while I watched so I may have missed it. Having resonant high and lowpass filters in there will give a good bit more flexibility (no need for super fancy zdf or authentic analogueness just simple filters) . Switchable slopes for both would be ideal also. Either way it'll probably be in my vst folder before the week is out. Really now that this is out, you can get almost all the functionality of speakerphone by grabbing this and grabbing plague chipcrusher. Or you could get all three like me and just be a sad sad man who spends way too much time making things sound dirty.
Congrats Audiothing on another great release.

We are working on new audio and video demos with more "extreme" effects
If you are looking for speaker style effects you can try our Fog Convolver which has a nice selections of speakers (radio, telephone, piezo, etc...), it will be a good companion to Vinyl Strip.

I love this kind of plugins and Audiothing I think hit the mark!
For who loves like me the sound of the vinyls I think it is a must because not only it's a great plugin but it is a time saver with lots of options.
Just a question. Could you explain me more about the Sampler? What can I do with it? Some idea on how to use it?

Another great release from AT.
Purchased - Really like the distortion and bitcrusher (as well as the other fx). But those two are animals on my drum buss.

Thank you! The idea behind the sampler is to recreate the sound of reduced bitrates (usually 12bit, or even 8bit) to have a more raw/harsh sound. The sample rate knob instead will basically introduce aliasing, you can hear an example at 0:50 on the video demo.pettinhouse wrote:I love this kind of plugins and Audiothing I think hit the mark!

Loving this plug-in, it's really about time somebody made a dedicated Vinyl plugin considering the popularity of Izotope's vinyl simulator.
I just sort of wish the Wow effect was a bit more ... Wow-y. Maybe its a software thing because I cannot get a satisfactory Wow effect from any plugins that I've tried but the SP-404's Wow effect is great.
Keeping an eye on AudioThing. Great stuff!

Thanks! I was considering making the WOW more extreme, but I'm not sure yet. It's subtle, but I find it works best on single instruments.Gennadios wrote:Loving this plug-in, it's really about time somebody made a dedicated Vinyl plugin considering the popularity of Izotope's vinyl simulator.

Thank you very much for the reply. Now I got it.
Meanwhile I was thinking that it would be a good idea to stop the noise and the crackle of the vinyl section if there's no signal.
is it possible to do that?

Absolutely, we are going to add a gate/envelope follower to the Vinyl section to do exactly that. It will be a global setting. The update will be available soon.pettinhouse wrote:Thank you very much for the reply. Now I got it.

Since I wasn't able to make iZotope's Vinyl work in Logic X (other people were successful though), I was looking for a vinyl noise plugin. Great plugin. First thing I instantly made: Channel strip template
One thing would be cool to have: A noise module with a lot of different types and some parameters to tweak, separately from the vinyl module. This way you can create a hum/noise floor, that will "end up" on a vinyl with a strong wobble, stereo/mono, etc. I think this would come even closer to a real vinyl.
