I have a couple of songs and wanted to make an Audio CD for my friend. The problem is that regardless if I make first .wav file or broadcast .wav file, after burning it to CD with Nero (and writing appropriate details in song's properties), instead of artist's name and song's title I get only track 1, track 2 etc. displayed in both, Winamp and Windows Media Player.

Obviously, because it is my first time trying to make Audio CD (previously only exporting to mp3), I am doing something wrong. I would be very obliged to get some help in this regard.

Thank you in advance,

Purna

As far as I'm aware you can't put the track titles (album name and artist name) on a CD. Media Player works by using a central database of CD's against the CD ID thingy... this is quoted from the Microsoft web-site..
9. How can I update or fix the album and artist names (and other information) for my CD?
For Windows Media Player 9 Series, in Media Library, right-click the album, and then click Find Album Info. For Windows Media Player 7 and Windows Media Player for Windows XP, in Media Library, right-click the album, and then click Get names.

Windows Media Player 7 or later recognizes tracks by using a unique identifier on the CD. The identifier is associated with data in a database that All Music Guide (AMG) maintains. When you update this information, it is used to correct the database in the future. According to AMG, it takes approximately six weeks for the information to be added.
So you have to manually enter the track names in Windows Media Player..

Well, there's always CD-Text.
AFAICT, it only works with a cue-sheet. Just add artist, album-title and track-title, and if your burner supports CD-Text, it should show up on the display. If the player supports CD-Text, of course.
The CDRWin manual has a cue-sheet-tutorial. It can be downloaded from their site: http://www.goldenhawk.com

Thank you for your replies. Do you know which Windows players support CD-text? Does Winamp support it?

Ok, I have found out that Winamp doesn't support CD-text.

well.. i have worked with a CD player/writer (Philips, real time, outboard, the one that has two cd trays) that would read the title of artists and songs of a audio cd burned off nero.
