Nice sounds!

Why is the GUI so laggy in the video though?
Thank's - because? Retina display/Yosemite - and the dropdown animation in the FX rack is extremely slow, you can go and make a coffee until a sub menue has unfolded

Perfect and upgrade was a breeze, no ilok issues.
Thanks for sorting that out.

@aMUSEd
the free upgrade offer is a small box above the field asking for a price,
pretty easy to overlook.
Sorry not seeing anything like that:

I've mostly avoided the Soundtoys bundles so far, since I'm pretty well set for effects. But then I had to go and watch Simon's latest demo and suddenly I'm lusting after yet another $500 package. I do have a couple of freebies which take the price down to $440, but that is still pretty hefty. I've never paid much attention, but do they do end of the year sales on their plugins?

I bet, after you buy the ST-bundle, you will not use some of your other effects anymore. You won't regret any penny you put into ST.

I think they have a sale, but can't say when it will happen.

I'm sure I'll love these effects if and when I take the plunge. Its just that I already have so much great stuff... Relayer, Valhalla plugins, Echobode, the U-he effects, Guitar Rig and all the Komplete Ultimate stuff, Trash 2, everything that comes with Ableton and Sonar Platinum, some awesome Strymon pedals, etc., etc...

I absolutely do not need these. But if Simon keeps posting demos, I probably won't be able to hold out until the next sale. :help:

Well personally I was hugely disappointed in my new Strymon pedal after having owned the Soundtoys bundle.
"I was wondering if you'd like to try Magic Mushrooms"
"Oooh I dont know. Sounds a bit scary"
"It's not scary. You just lose a sense of who you are and all that sh!t"

I feel you. I also have so many great plugins. And because of ST a lot of them don't get used much anymore. At the moment I don't buy much new stuff anymore. Only software that really really fills an existing gap.

In your situation I'd demo ST extensively, and if I liked it I'd wait for a sale. You will end up buying it (very probably), maybe you can then sell some other stuff. I don't sell plugins, because I'm a hoard... ehm collector :dog: :hyper: :P

You don't need it until you realise how could you make music before ,when you don't have it ...

I sold a lot of plugin because of ST , delay , preamp ...... Soundtoys just do it better.

Seriously, I just got the upgrade because I have been using these plugs for years, more or less frequently and not all of them, but the new rack version simply does make a lot of sense because of the feedback function and the new sounds you get when mashing everything together, I could do all of this in my DAW with an FX send feedback setup, but it would take about 5 times a long. EchoBoy doesn't replace Relayer nor does it replace ÜberMod, but it's serious delay, the granular effect is also great, the phaser is a killer, the filters are alright, then we have the distortion units which are splendid/unique and so forth...

Post

I'm offered a $225 if I relinquish 5 of my plugin licenses, which isn't too bad... my question (and if this company know what they're doing, the answer will be what we expect) is will my projects still load correctly if I've relinquished the single licenses in favour of the larger upgrade price/ single license?

I assume it will all be hunky-dory but someone must have tried this already and knows the actual answer..

cheers :)

Sorry to hear that, it was just an idea,
took me a moment to see that tiny line above that huge upgrade fee box.

I find it worth to mention:

- The rack and the single plugins are all separated and can be loaded side by side independently.
To me, this is an exemplary manner of a rack implementation, well done !

- any former v4 plugin versions sitting on a project will load v5 correctly, even presets.

Although you weren't answering me directly, thank you Omkar for your mentions :)
I have the answer I was looking for, and I will now upgrade!

Already have Radiator V4.
There is $29 "V5" upgrade option in my account.

What I will get for $29 if:
1. I don't need a 2nd activation.
2. Already have Slate products on my iLok key and iLok freedom is not for me right now
?
