´ello,

after getting my Live 4.0.1 Update, here is my first track made with Live 4.
Very minimal, very deep, only for chain reaction/basic channel lovers :D

Gimme this one

Used stuff:
Live 4 (Mainly Resonators and stuff)
Imposcar
some self made samples

Feel free to comment.

Have a great day,

mon0

A very nice track! :)

Anyway could use a bit of equalization on the bottom end, and normalization. :?

No?

You mean the bottom end should be more cutted/reduced?
hmm, i´ll try that.
did you have crackling sounds or why do you wish a normalizaion? :)

Because volume is too loud. It's just a matter of matching the volume to other recordings

Ok, new version is up.
I fixed the volume, eq´ed a bit and did a normalization. Thx jax for your tip.

This is good stuff mon0. Enjoyed quite a bit. Had a sort of Plastikman/Gas vibe to it, with the buried techno beat.

I'm not sure if the normalizing helped, as it sounded to me like there was some clipping, but it could be my cheapie earphones. Better to use a master limiter.

Cheers,
Steve

I love the pad part, really warm and lush - very inviting. Don't dig the drumpart that much as they're a bit too clean for my taste. However, really cool mood you've got going there!

Hey steve, thanks for your comment.
Yes, i still have some problems with the mastering.
The second background pattern is making me crazy.
As i am actually tryin with Live 4 i have to learn a bit to limit the output.
even if i now get hurt a bit, i didnt have worked with a limiter till now.
maybe you can gimme a tip? :)

Post

well guys, can someone please help me.
i heard the track now on 2 hifi systems and i have the feeling, that there is some override in the mid-frequencies. on the other sytem i cant hear that tho. what does it sound like on your systems?

thanks in advance.

Post

Yeah, the mid-frequencies might be crowding the mix. Try EQ-ing around 450hz andse what you get.

For limiting, I'd recommend using a limiter in and audio editor. I've tried lately to be fairly conservative with limiters, maybe with a threshold set to .5db below the highest peak after compression.

It sounds much better on my system now :D

Ooooooooohhhh dark and deep :D

This reminds me a bit of Acid Jesus and that Emanuel Top (his more experimental tunes).

A definate keeper, and something I wouldn't mind putting a remix too (if I'd have more time that is)

Thx for your comments guys.
Well as i said i wasnt very happy with the mastering.
After a lot of tweaking and with the kind help of rp, i uploaded a new version of this track (same url).
the bassline was tweaked much and the hole song is now more warmer and harmonic. the mid-range frequencies problems should be gone too.

have a nice day,

mon0
