Is it possible to use the lower keyboard and pedal keyboard of the NI B4 in FL? What is the command trick to make it work. I use the pianoroll to draw the notes in FL but I can´t make them play in the lower or pedal keyboard. I am just getting started with FL and VSTIs.

Midi channel 2 and midi channel 3 play the lower 2 keyboards.
Now how to get them to play in Fruity is beyond me. I'm sure that you have to build a dashoard or a template or a car or something, but I believe that you can do it.

yea, that´s what the manual of b4 says. It even has "easy setup" guides for logic and cubase, but how about FL?

Generally I would say RTFM, but in this case I did (I own the boxed version, along with the 1 update shaft) and it doesn't say squat about having instruments accept different channel assignments. I tells you how to link controllers to knobs and the like, but it says nothing about multiple channel for instruments.
Seeing as how I use it mainly as a drum machine maybe one of the lovers of Image Line can shed a little light on the situation.

Hi I don't know FL so I can't help in that respect,
but ...........
there is a work around that will let you use
both keyboard manuals and pedals all on midi channel
#1 , use the 'split' function in B4 to split the
notes on midi ch #1 into 3 ranges .....
Hi range will play the upper keyboard
middle range will play the lower keyboard
Low range will play the pedals

B-4 is a multitimbral VSTI, so you have to use MIDI Out generators for the additional channels. The process is the same for Tera, Delta III, sfz/sfz+, Edirol VSC, and other multitimbral VSTI.reggaemylitis wrote:Is it possible to use the lower keyboard and pedal keyboard of the NI B4 in FL? Add a B-4 channel to your project. At the top right corner of the GUI is a box that says PORT and has three dashes in it. Click in that box and drag up to an unused port number (as defined in your MIDI inputs and outputs). For example, you can use "4" for B-4. This channel will be your upper manual.
For the lower manual, add a MIDI Out generator. About 1/3 from the top along the right hand side, there's a PORT box. Set this port to the same number ("4" in my example) as the one on the B-4. Then set the MIDI Channel to 2. This channel is where you'll program notes for the lower manual.
Repeat the process for the pedal channel, only use MIDI channel 3.
Yes, B-4 can use the split keyboard, but that's not nearly as flexible. Sooner or later you'll have to learn how to use the MIDI Out generators anyway.
MIDI Out generators have other uses as well - like automating VSTI that support MIDI CC automation but not VSTI automation, or enabling a VSTI's MIDI learn instead of using the FLS "link to controller" service.

in the fl forum in the presets and dashboard sticky thread I made a dashboard for B4, that way you can use a controller for all the features on B4 or automate them..I love B4. I also made a patch selector for B4, I'm not sure if I re-uploaded it to the preset forum after or not...If I didn't let me know because it uses all the presets for B4...reggaemylitis wrote:thanks, now it works.
