Ooh, and Linux support! Nice! :borg:

I think plogue's new freebie synth would be right up your alley:
MadBrain's TableWarp 2

(wavetables!)

Hmm, but it's based on sforzando, a sample player, which pretty much flies in the face of what OSC is all about. Single-cycle samples are generally ok in OSC though, so it kind of depends what's going on under the hood.

It's not sample based, it's all synthesis - sforzando supports custom oscillators. This synth uses its own wavetable + warptable oscillators.

So it's basically like Dune or Z3ta but you load normal SFZ samples?

Haha!

But its thruue! (more or less) Both Dimension Pro and ARIA/sforzando have some internal generators,
although exactly which ones are left to the SFZ engine developer.

The 'official SFZ 2.0 book' :

Aria/sforzando has *sine *saw, *triangle, *square and *noise, and all our ARIA-based synth products use custom oscillators made using our SDK.

Example:

Code: Select all

<region> sample=*com.Madbrain.TableWarp2

I guess, the real question with respect to the TableWarp2 in OSC is: are the oscillators really short-cylce wavetables or sample playback like traditional samples? And, does it force only the wavetable(s) to be used or is there still a possibility of loading samples somewhere (e.g. certain patches)?

Short cycle wavetables, from maths.
No way to load custom ones in there right now.
Thanks

Sorry for another thread high-jacking.
But the sooner the word is out, the more fun for everyone and time for editing.

The KVR MC16 just went live.
And OSC regulars will see a familiar face as the song provider: Animehaus!

He was kind enough to provide us his track "Talisman". If you want to take a closer look at his production, or maybe even want to try your mixing skills on it, jump over to the "Production Techniques" sub-forum.

http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 2&t=449594

The time frame for mixing is 21days (deadline: 21st November) - so enough time left to join the OSC, the MC and(!) the MCC (Music Cafe Competition).

The thread can now resume with it's usual course. :tu:
