Anybody got BeatZille linux version up and working?
I'm not so used to Linux, but if I had EnergyXT in Ubuntu, I could load BeatZille as a regular "VST" via the file Beat sent out on Friday?

Why have Beat included BeatZille twice on the DVD?
One Win installer file is 12.2 MB in size, the other Win installer file is 7.94MB (BeatZille3661Win)

The latest u-he builds are 3898 so I'm guessing BeatZille3661Win is an older version? What build number is the 12.2MB version?

Not here... only one big .zip file for both the Windows and Mac version.Numanoid wrote:Why have Beat included BeatZille twice on the DVD?![]()

The smaller version of Beat Zille is located in a sub-folder in the Synthage bundle folder on the DVD.
This is in fact a great issue to pick up for those who haven't got earlier mags of Beat, as that folder contains 10 or so of their earlier magware synths like Little One BE and Xils 3.2 LE, nice of 'em

After a couple or hours with BeatZille what strikes me is that the CPU hit is so low compared to Bazille.
I can play three finger chords in BeatZille without going over 30%, while in Bazille that goes straight over 50%
And it sounds fantastic of course, just the init patch sound phat

Hi guys,
I've been informed it's a slip-up, and the correct version is the main one in the 'DVD Highlights' folder. Feel free to ignore the other one, if it's not the same then it's an older one.

So it is a mispress?
In record collecting that means the value of the disc will sky rocket

Yes, and one reason is the missing HQ mode.Numanoid wrote:After a couple or hours with BeatZille what strikes me is that the CPU hit is so low compared to Bazille.

I guess the main reason to the diffence in size between these files, is that the final version has got the user guide PDF included in the exechk071 wrote:Aaah... i see it now. The smaller one is also missing the presets.

There is a small issue with the linux-install: the archive is in tar format, not tar.gz as the file extension suggests.
This may cause some confusion to the de-packer.

Is Geist LE included or is that baby long gone?Numanoid wrote:The smaller version of Beat Zille is located in a sub-folder in the Synthage bundle folder on the DVD.
