Probably an obvious question but here goes....
Why in certain hosts(specifically Reason) can my CPU usage meter be almost all the way up (almost to red in Reason) and the sound will be clear with no breakups yet in others(Live 4) once it reaches around 40% my audio starts to breakup?

Great optimization... and no VSTs... If you're talking cpu usage, Reason has no equal... Except maybe a Dual G5 and Logic Pro... Check you're latency settings in Live 4.0! I'm running 4 vsts/AUs 4 fx, and 3-4 channels of audio at 50% with a 2gig dual G5... Live 4.01...

It is... But Live has always been on the Mac, so it should be good already... The best optimization with outside instruments is Logic of course, which uses the dual processors... Don't think Live does that?
