In my linux Rapture (not Rapture Pro) this is the path,
look around for something similar for Pro, perhaps?
Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data/Cakewalk/Rapture/Programs/Muz3um
or 'anti-Program Files' setups may install to
users/Public/Application Data/Cakewalk/Rapture/Programs/Muz3um
I have both

Tried to find a review of Rapture Pro at MusicRadar and Sound on Sound, but didn't
Has it been reviewed by them yet?

I seem to recall Computer Music gave it something like 5/10.

Yes, and CM gave it a 6/10 if I remember correctly. Maybe there's a reason why it's not on their websiteNumanoid wrote:Tried to find a review of Rapture Pro at MusicRadar and Sound on Sound, but didn't

EDIT: Guess there was one faster answer than mine

Thanks, I forgot that MusicRadar is basically CM isnt it?
I've been using DimPro and Rapture quite a bit recently, and feel the urge to upgrade growing.
But the installation process has so far held my GAS back.
Would be interesting to read what Sound on Sound say too.Numanoid wrote:A big 2 page spread review, but only 6/10 awarded from CM to Rapture Pro![]()
Rapture Pro doesn't manage to bring its predecessors up to date, we're sad to say. It does come with a lot of sounds, though.

Yes, it is. I think they merged the CM website with the Musicradar site someday so it's not that clear where the original articles come from though. Apart from that I never used either of them. I think the originals were quite good when they were new, but the new version already looks pretty old-fashioned/outdated compared to other plugins you can get for the same amount of money (or even less). Can't say anything about the sound quality of course, but the review in CM wasn't too encouraging in this point eitherNumanoid wrote:Thanks, I forgot that MusicRadar is basically CM isnt it?Would be interesting to read what Sound on Sound say too.Numanoid wrote:A big 2 page spread review, but only 6/10 awarded from CM to Rapture Pro![]()

Thanks for that. I might grab that. I doubt its worth $59, but since I already have DP and Rapture, the nice thing is this will put all of the content under one plugin with a but more up to date GUI, compared to the old ones, which I hardly ever used because they turned me off. I think this upgrade was sorely overdue and $50 is the right price point for it...the reason it hasn't been received well before now I think has more to do with $99 price point for the upgrade..which is too much...

tbh I prefer the old guis, except I would have liked them larger. The new gui is very uninspiring and I don't like the default view but you can't seem to change it. I would prefer it just opened the instrument view and had the browser as a side panel.

Does the new version of Rapture Pro 2 included absolutely all of the original factory content? I am wondering whether its better to have the original Rapture and dimPro content already present and then upgrade to Rapture Pro, or whether I can start with a clean machine and just install the new rapture Pro and have for sure all of the original content plus any new content they have added.
(i recently rebuilt OSX on my machine and have not installed the old DP or rapture yet)
I am thinking about picking up the new Rapture Pro for $59 today

AFAIK you can start clean.

Yes, you can start clean. Rapture Pro contains all the patches from Dimension Pro and Rapture, including the free expansions. The only things missing are the commercial expansions launched, but those can be added by the user too.

I don't suppose Cakewalk fixed the OSX issues yet that people reported...? At $59, I'd be willing to spend money on Cakewalk to bring my existing Cakewalk synth purchases into the 64-bit Logic realm.
