My only hope is that Kontakt 6 will still be able to play older nki and Libraries.
Dont want to regret not purchasing k5!

Of course it will! With the insane number of third party libraries out there, it would be unthinkable for them to do otherwise. (and for a million other reasons).

The issue would be rather that new Kontakt 6 libraries wouldn't be compatible with Kontakt 5 even if the new libraries don't use new features.
Nowadays most new libraries don't support Kontakt 4.

That has been the case with all previous versions of Kontakt, and most software in general.

Yes.
K6 very likely won't be this year, it's still in alpha.

Fantastic news, upgrade money savedEvilDragon wrote:K6 very likely won't be this year, it's still in alpha.
I think most users like me only use 10% off the full potential of this fantastic software, by mostly using it to load third party libs.
Why then is an upgrade needed?

Well, K6 is gonna be pretty cool.
And developers will be using it - that's why you'll sooner or later have to upgrade, if things devs like about it get more use (and they will).

...and cost a bundle too
So I can spend more on x-mas gifts this year

Of course, resistance is futile once it comes into playEvilDragon wrote:And developers will be using it - that's why you'll sooner or later have to upgrade

I really hope the gui is scalable. Kontakt 5 can be a pain on some libraries as far as finer small font. It's 2016 for crying out loud, make it resizeable.
Favorites feature is lacking severely. Putting a star or whatever next to an nki wouldn't be too much to ask would it? (quick load is not a proper substitute)

I hope we would know something at NAMM. If not released, it should be at least announced. I have Kontrol S4 on hold "Do not ship until NAMM". If they announce new keyboard controllers, I will cancel the order, if not, will get the S4. It has been awfully quiet at NI, something about to happen.

I believe NI's 20 year anniversary is in 2016?
I expect both Kontakt 6 and Absynth 6
to be announced. My guess is this month
or March. I saved some $$$$ by not
acting on all the great Black Friday
and Cyber Monday deals. I will spend it on
Komplete 11.
I am still a bit upset that both Komplete 9
and K10 came up short. How can they do
this to me or more correctly US.
Maybe they spent the time during K 9 and K10 years
to make Absynth multitouch capable. I hope they make
both Absynth 6 and Kontakt 6 more user
friendly.

NI don't have much interest in software, the new Kontakt will have more browsing features to make NI licensed add ons work better, they are more interested in shipping expansions than updating software, this is what works for them and they are a business, look at Maschine, the only updates it gets is to shift more expansions, Reaktor was updated so that they could start to do Block expansions, I doubt individual plugins hold any market vaue for them at all unless they can sell expansions.Kalamata Kid wrote:I believe NI's 20 year anniversary is in 2016?
