5 is too low of a number.... 10 - 15 would be about right. I sound nothing like my influences. Not sure if that's good or not?? Also it's album dependent for me.
Certain albums by a group will be complete works, while most have a song or two that isn't awful.

Tristan Murail (spectral compositions)

additional: Beethoven, Tsjaikovski, JM Jarre, Kitaro, Tomita, The Orb, Mark Rothko (his paintings convey a very strong 'vibe'). .
