FL Studio : Can this be done?

Do you know if FL Studio 4.5.2 has a "live" render to wav file facility?
This is currently in Logic and Protools, which basically means that when you render to a master 2-track file, as it renders, instead of being quiet, it actually plays the track in real time while its rendering.
This is a great idea for hardware outboard modules that are plugged into your soundcard, as they would get recorded by FL Studio and also it allows Redundant Hardware samplers etc. to use FL Studio's FX and plugging them through FL's Mixer ( i currently know a lot of producers using this way of rendering within Protools and Logic)

even if FL Studio can't do this natively, it can be done.
Load an instance of TapeIt (freeware) in your output channel and it will record everything it hears. I do this all the time - it's dead easy to use and works perfectly.

I was gonna say the same thing, but I'll add there is a tape it 2 now which I think will also sync, I downloaded the demo but haven't played with it much. I think it's around 20 bux, where tape it 1 is free.

believe it or not there are some of us old coots who still like to ride the faders. Although I automate a lot more sometimes it just seems more natural too me. I don't know if you remember my thread Mirabebe at FL about tapeit....I said it was cool but didn't really have a use for it, but I have used it here and there. But not as much with FL, instead I've used it for mixdown in AA. When I'm ready to render in FL I render everything dry and split tracks.Mirabebe wrote:Ofcourse FL can record to a file what is currently playing.

instead of TapeIt, you can also use Anarchy Recorder, which is an audio stream recorder, and works pretty fine

FL can record what's playing. It's not 'rendering', since rendering is by definition an offline, slower (thus not realtime) & more accurate process.
While some people have problems with FL's recording not be as easy as they'd like, this is the fact that recording isn't linked to hardware inputs that allows this. Once you armed a mixer track for recording, anything that will pass through it will be recorded. So yes, it doesn't need to be a soundcard audio input, it can even be FL's main output.

however.. one of the more annoying features (or lack thereof) is that you cant turn "record automation" off. Am I right? Soooo many times I end up with incredibly annoying weirdness with parameters for recording some live audio.. deleting those recordings in the history in the browser helps though. But what it means is basically once you record youre not supposed to do any adjustments to any faders.
