Probably either the sub-par sound quality or lack of money to throw into advertising.
My solo projects:
Hekkräiser (experimental) | MFG38 (electronic/soundtrack) | The Santtu Pesonen Project (metal/prog)

Hm, I'd have to say it was due to a combination of having a mediocre voice and hating all the travel and crap that comes from live shows. Hating dealing with band politics also came into play. I honestly believe that I have really good pop song writing chops, I just got to a point in my career where I took a hard look at everything and realized that the only actual joy I was getting out of it was the free-form improvised jams we'd do to warm up at rehearsals. The last band I had was pretty damn good. Then I started doing more electronic music based little shows... that was more fun, but it seemed that people were just as interested in the DJs that would be on the bill with me. One day I just said, "I don't like doing this enough to do it again. I'll just do this at home for my cat." I'm much happier now.

Honestly? You want the honest answer that you all know already?! It's because you didn't want it enough and because you didn't work at it enough. Success in the music industry has little to do with talent - countless bands have proved that - it's to do with how much you're prepared to: pimp yourself; make a nuisance of yourself; push yourself into the field of vision that you want to be in; employ gimmicks; copy other artists in your genre - which all requires time, drive, energy and - to some extent - money. It's about who you know. But, y'all knew this anyway didn't you

I'm not famous because people do not care about about my music! Soundcloud or KVR comments aren't exactly plentiful either. I'm not blaming them though, guess I had it coming
I do still believe that the more gear I buy, the more famous I'll become! So far it hasn't worked at all
