I am interested in upgrading from v7 to v8 just for this, to streamline in my mind what is going on in the plugin. But now I'm interested in the new filters etc. I want to use Wusik Station a lot more than I have, I think the new interface may make it more user friendly. Any thoughts on this? I'm also waiting for the crazy upgrade no brainer deal too, say a $20 upgrade.exiannyc wrote:
Hi Audiodude, one big difference I see is that you can add as many layers of whatever type you want, rather than 4 oscillator layers and 2 waveseq layers. You could have 7 waveseq layers (if your CPU could handle it).
If you are doing fine with w6 maybe you're fine. I am not an experienced user so this is one of the main differences I can see.

After my posting for Wusik 8000 from yesterday, here is one, maybe my last one for Wusik Station 8:
In June and July 2015 I reported issues with presets (*.wusikPRST): missing soundsets, missing LFOs and envelopes in the mod-matrix, missing effects and so on. Nothing happened!
In December 2015 I did a reminder about these issues. Nothing happened!
In the last week I compared all my 220 "Five Star Wusik (Factory) Presets" from Wusik Station 7 (V7) with Wusik Station 8 (V8). In V8 nearly 100 (!) of them have one or more deficiencies compared to V7. Because of no longer existing effects (Trans Gate, 3 Tap Delay, Loop Recorder, Talk Box ...), missing modulation sources and destinations, wrong settings in the mod-matrix (no LFOs, no aftertouch ...), in the layer volumes, pitches, glides, octaves, sample player layers instead of wave sequencer layers, not existing groove box and other issues.
For comparing examples I recommend:
User Presets / FAC / FX - FM Space FX
Artvera Mistral / Melodic Sequences - Frisky Wavelets
Orchestral Lite / Percussion - Major Stab
DB_NuWav / NuWav dnekm - The Laboratory
Artvera NewAge Collection / WSequence - Percman
So - for me Wusik Station V7 is the better V8. In other words, for me V8 is a downgrade from V7!.

I'm listening, but sometimes I can't do things right away, sadly, sorry. 
But I do have plans on updating V8 with more stuff, and the release will be free. I just wish the day had more hours on it.

OK, I'll describe:
I have the old presets, so I've tried to import them by thowing (sorry I dont know the exact word) the ..WusikPACK file on Wusikstation, but it says " could not import 1 of 1 item".
So I looked into the old installed Wusik Station DATA Files folder that i have on another system, and I copied the presets to actual wusikstation data folder presets, and Ametrine Audio Waveforms folder to actual SoundSets folder. Then some presets works and some presets ask for a sample that is not there...
I have more old presets, and I'd like to know which is the "normal" method to import them to new WusikStation.

Moving sounds and presets from an older Wusikstation install to a newer install should be straightforward. Just copy the soundsets from one Wusikstation DATA\Soundsets folderto the other. Same with presets.
It sounds like that is what you did.
You could have two possible issues....
The folder may not have been copied exactly. If any nested folders were introduced, that could potentially cause issues. Just quickly check that the folder structure is duplicated exactly.
The other issue could be that some presets may use sounds that come with the stock Wusikstation which may not be installed on the newer version.
Can you narrow down what sounds a preset is looking for that you do not have? I can check it against my installed sounds.

wusikstation 7 has automatic search for missing or moved samples and resave the presets automatically . wusikstation 8 has not , you needs to search an find (if there are an problem) the soundfiles manually .
the best thing of both are having wusikstation 7 and wusikstation 8 installed and using v7 for the data folder , as you can set previous workstation data to the wusikstation 8 settings and using to load the presets from the legacy presets from wusikstation 8 .
and sadly wusuikstation 8 will be never again updated or improved too .
