Not that I am in need of another hypersaw generator/player but I recall reFX saying that V2 is in works.
In the meantime they have silently removed old instruments from their website. So is this the end for Vanguard?

Post

yes it is. it is another official discontinued product from them. discussed and shitstormed many times in here :D

vanguard 2 will never happen and thats good. bad for the ones that bought it when the update was promised. now there are so many other devs making good synths. even vanguard 2 would not be comparable to up-to-date instruments.
refx has nexus. the make money selling expansions. why should they do anything else, if it is so easy

Post

I completely agree with what you've said.
I have asked only because I recalled reFX guy promising free up grade for V1 users etc. But have never followed what happened next :)
And the website refresh triggered the memories :)
Cheers

Now it is discontinued a company like Image-line could buy it to include it for free in FL Studio. It lacks a bread and butter supersaw synth.

Post

Was there any official statement that it is discontinued?

Not as such no - but I've had it confirmed by reFX support this is officially dead in the water :(

what for? these liars and thieves change their opinion as they see fit. so if they announce v2 on monday they likely abandon it on tuesday without further notice...

but none of the other devs announces a plugin over years(!) with dozens of newsletters saying it is 99% done and will definitely be released ;-) accordingly this great dev also has to take the 99% shitstorm.

anyway some musicians are done with refx and thanks to their policies it's just a matter of time till the others are done, too. just my 2 cents :ud:

Michael Kleps-Hartmann is an a**hole. Take it from someone who has dealt with him behind the scenes.

I must say an upgraded Vanguard would be fun, that's one of the most fun synths from ReFX....

They have a lot of attitude there.

Well, take Spire then, or Hive or Zebra or maybe Serum - it's not likely that they wouldn't deliver any groundbreaking stuff anyways. I guess they knew that and therefore threw the towel.

Vanguard V1 works fine with every bit bridge known to mankind and is super stable even on most recent OSes. Furthermore there are tons of existing, brilliant plug in synth alternatives to what would have been Vanguard 2. And it was never going to be backwards patch compatible anyway. So really, if the big deal to some of you is not getting a vanguard V1 64 bit player, that was never going to happen anyway! And SURELY people can't SERIOUSLY be upset that vanguard 2 is cancelled, with all the other glorious products out there! It's like people are upset that a plugin has been cancelled from a developer they rubbish all the time.. it totally doesn't make sense! V2 was not going to be a game changer!
v2 was simply going tobe 64 bit compatible nothing more. Personally I wouldn't spend money on developing older software to create further problems with newer OS's and the usual apple OS upgrade/compatibliity debacle along with DAW host updates.
It's already mentioned loads of great plugins that match/supercede and it's works flawlessley with jbridge impe.
