Why do you need an Alchemy replacement if you never owned it ?

Falcon doesn't re-synthesize (apart from image -> wavetable or wav to single cycle waveform), in all other aspects it's far more than a substitute, as Alchemy's sample engine (even in version 2) is still less than average and Alchemy does not do physical modeling nor does it support wavetable synthesis and it only has avery basic FM synth function (although it's great as you use samples as modulator for FM synthesis which is quite a rare feature). So apples and bananas really...

Simply put, I'm still looking for something that does what Alchemy did? Is this close or does it exceed it? Where does it fall short?

I mean if you dont register the serial, or authorize it with iLOK there will be no fee for transferring the product to somebody else.

You receive an Serial Number and you must register it inside your account: Serial Number and iLok User Name
If it not registered, i think you can give it do another person

So, if for example JX3P is bought with the voucher, that could maybe sold unused for 20% off the asking price, would be able to get the price of Falcon down to $149

Well, in the sum of it's parts there is nothing like Alchemy 1 and certainly nothing like Alchemy 2.

Yes please. As soon I got home I went to the shop, but I couldn't get the discount. I too am a Mach Five user, but I was willing to bite the bullet with that extra discount, since this thing looks really great.

If I understand, we could use the $100 voucher to buy Spirit of Gongs, Mayhem of loops, or World percussion for $99 (at leat at JRR). A couple of those sound interesting.

Spectral uses additive synthesis not wavetable, Falcon either plays wavetables (like Serum wavetables with up to 256 single waveforms) or it re-synthesizes images, or it creates single cycle waveforms from wav samples (via drag&drop). But it does not have a wavetable editor, so tables have to be created outside Falcon.

Flacon looks very interesting, but with this possibilitie like create own wave and wavetables, it lost my interest and instant buy. Maybe later, if this wave creating will be implemented.

Yes, Serum does both which is great and you can even import a sample to wavetable and then edit the single waveforms in the additive editor. But in Falcon it's one of many modules, and a very capable and good sounding one too.

With the voucher I would get 2 copies of Synergy, and sell 'em off for $35 each. That should be possible.

I like that Falcon comes in at around 1GB; I don't need another SSD muncher. I'll probably wait and see if UVI release any soundbanks in the next couple of months which make use of the synth/fx engines rather than mostly samples.

I think Falcon is most like Halion 5 tbh, similar feature set except H5 comes with a bigger sample library.
