Iris 3? Are you joking?? We can be happy if they don't bury Iris 2 next week.c_voltage wrote:BTW, Iris 3 has a granular possibilities ?Kalamata Kid wrote:In that case I will just continue waiting forSampleconstruct wrote:
Well, in the sum of it's parts there is nothing like Alchemy 1 and certainly nothing like Alchemy 2.
Absynth 6
Kontakt 6
Massive 2
Iris 3
Padshop Pro 2
Well that is if I can get Falcon for $195 at JRR plus the $100 library coupon.
Yea that will work for me.
Honestly, i wanted to know for a long time (just a hands did not reach to try fresh demo, once I tried it seems the first version, but granular there was nothing found, perhaps missed something).
As off today it would most probably be Falcon, the new multi-granular engine is almost up to par with H5 (although I still prefer H5's granular engine), but in all other aspects Falcon wins and it's scriptable too.audientronic wrote:Sampleconstruct wrote:For me the most important novelties in Falcon are the new granular engine which finally supports multiple grain streams (a la Padshop Pro/HALion, adds different grain shapes and offers lot's of other grain controls, the main problem in the old granular engine was that each grain would fade in over time so percussive sounds were not possible, this has now been solved.
And there is the new model synth, similar to Chromaphone I would say where you can also use samples to excite the resonators, either following key or with a static pitch. I shall post some demos soon with sounds I made for the factory library.
And the new FX modules are awesome, so is the total GUI redesign. More info later...
So if you could only choose one, would it be Falcon or Halion 5? Not to put you on the spot or anything
.
Naaa, Kontakt will always be what it is: a versatile, scriptable sample player and time-stretcher.GHOST19 wrote:Any idea if Kontakt 6 will cover what Falcon does?EvilDragon wrote:I would say don't sell Kontakt if you have a use for it. For certain things it's still the way to go. Falcon is a worthy addition, but not a complete replacement, at least IMHO.
Yeah. The LUA api only covers Midi generation, what they call "pre-synthesis data"... That's cool, but I do wish they extended it to allow programmatic access to automatable controls for example...Sampleconstruct wrote:and it's scriptable too.
My guess is dead end. So far from what I can tell Falcon only doesn't cover two areas that M53 does, sample format importing, and a huge library upfront. M53 comes with Biosphere and Extreme FX, Universal Loops and Instruments along with 6 big sample instruments, bass, drums guitar etc.parma wrote:Given that apparently there is no cross/upgrade for MachFive owners, it makes me wonder about the future of MachFive. Is MachFive going to be updated with these new features (MachFive 4?) or is it a dead-end product now?

As is, it's nice, but nothing your DAW couldn't do really (in terms of Midi synthesis, before it hits the plugin)...
Yeah, you could get fancy with "intelligent chorders" and that...
One thing I know about UVI, is their interfaces are lovely. Lots of space between things, good use of panelling, logical arrangement of stuff.
Like, for me, while I just love this new synth, I think I can't buy it. Cause that would probably mean I would never use the great plugins I do own.... Crap reason, maybe, but that's it.
I do have pretty much everything it has... And, it may well be that the bits that I have are individually as good/better/more heavily featured, they don't come under a unified modulation/mix setup.
One thing I do miss tho, out of it all, is the IRCAM stuff. Bloody quality stuff there! Cutting edge.
And their Wavetable part, it's better than any wavetable stuff I own - looks a bit Serum'ish.
Nice one lads.
Hope you sell loads UVI.
Thanks. I suppose I could sell MF3 to buy Falcon but then I'd lose access to the libraries I bought from you.Sampleconstruct wrote:As off today it would most probably be Falcon, the new multi-granular engine is almost up to par with H5 (although I still prefer H5's granular engine), but in all other aspects Falcon wins and it's scriptable too.audientronic wrote:Sampleconstruct wrote:For me the most important novelties in Falcon are the new granular engine which finally supports multiple grain streams (a la Padshop Pro/HALion, adds different grain shapes and offers lot's of other grain controls, the main problem in the old granular engine was that each grain would fade in over time so percussive sounds were not possible, this has now been solved.

No, all MachFive libraries are fully compatible with Falcon, they would have been stupid to break their own system.audientronic wrote:Thanks.
