What's Roi got to do with it, wasn't he eaten by a tiger?

Yeah, you can load the UVIW libraries just like you can load Kontakt Player libraries in full version of Kontakt. Then you can go to town.Liero wrote:Thanks guys!
One more question:
Exactly how does Falcon make use of other UVI Workstation products? Can you stick them anywhere you like, can you process and modulate their own parameters using Falcon modulators? Can you maybe even use a soundbank built-in effect on a Falcon oscillator or stuff like that?
This is something that even the manual doesn't really go into.

Not so simple. A year from now, this thing is going to be over $100 more. That's not exactly chump change.EvilDragon wrote:How about wait a year and see?
If you don't need it now then you don't need it now. Simple as that...

Well in that time you'll also probably have something saved up, no?

UVI has sales on a frequent basis. There will be a sale on this again in the future. Patience.
And...there will be people wanting to sell it second hand in the future as well.

The library (UVI Sound Libraries) and other sample content management is in Falcon much better and easy than in MF3

Oh absolutely, except I've got the money for it now. I just hate spending more money on something when I can get it for less. It's one of the reasons I've held out on getting Spectral as the company seems to never have sales. With the current auction, I'm hoping to pick it up even if for just a few bucks less. It's more about the principle of spending more than I have to than not being able to afford the synth. There are very few soft synths I can't afford, even if it meant I had to sell something to raise the money. My MTG collection alone is valued at about $40,000 so if worse comes to worst I could always sell that. I'd prefer not to, but if I needed the money, it's there.EvilDragon wrote:Well in that time you'll also probably have something saved up, no?
Point is, if this thing is going to be a monster hit (Yes, I know...nobody knows for sure) then I might as well get it while it's probably going to be at its cheapest price for a very long time if not forever.

You have a Soundbanks section on the right side of the GUI (similar to Libraries tab in Kontakt, for example).pinki wrote:Please expand!MillerSam wrote:The library (UVI Sound Libraries) and other sample content management is in Falcon much better and easy than in MF3
I'm not sure if I'm seeing a big improvement here. MF3 had it as well - except it didn't have a dedicated docked browser, it was tabbed between Parts/Tree/List. Falcon has two tab viewports - left side (Parts/Tree/List) and right side (Browser/Presets), so things are slightly more obvious. That's it.
One thing that would be a HUGE benefit for Falcon as time progresses is having a tag-based database browser, like Kontakt has. Surely as the number of 3rd party libraries pick up, browsing folders will become more and more tedious. Tags to the rescue!

Well then... get it now, see how it goes. If it doesn't go well, you can always sell it at the same price you got it for (intro price, which is probably not going to be flashed on sales THAT often)...

Maybe @sampleconstruct or @evildragon can answer this?:
Is it easy -- maybe that's not the right word... is it a pretty straightforward method to create your own patches/libraries in Falcon, package them up and provide them for download/sale? In a way similar to Kontakt I mean, where you can provide graphics and the like to create a unified product so to speak.
It looks like it's certainly possible, but I'm new to the UVI world so I'm curious. Thanks.

From the look of it, and UVI's track record, I expect there will be a lot of official expansion packs for it in the future. Maybe you should contact UVI and offer your services?wagtunes wrote:Point is, if this thing is going to be a monster hit (Yes, I know...nobody knows for sure) then I might as well get it while it's probably going to be at its cheapest price for a very long time if not forever.

Sure, you can do that. Everything you do can be contained in a single folder, so it's a simple installation for the end user.bob.baffy wrote:Maybe @sampleconstruct or @evildragon can answer this?:

Falcon is awesome - holy crap I'm deeply impressed.
And I'm happy that I never bought Mach Five now
Question for the Beta Testers: For the life of me I can't find how to:
a.) enable surround mode in the VST version (works in the standalone but the Configuration menu is missing in the plugin).
(I fear it's due to Bitwig not being officially surround capable and only having stereo tracks. But I do surround with it allright so a manual switch would be needed I guess...)
b.) how do I tell the software in 5.1 mode what should go to what channel. I only find the general assignment to an output, but no surround panner or mixer or ways to route individual parts to space? For instance the (awesome) sound Experimental -> "Contremy Bass" has it's main output on the center speaker while the next sound, "Dark Pad Wheel" has nothing on the center speaker, only the front and rear speakers. I would really love to modulate the sounds in the surround field...
c.) do you also have the problem that the LFE output in the mixer is invisible? The other channels show their signal allright and I can hear the LFE sub clearly, but the indicator for the LFE always stays a the bottom.
I sent this to support as well, but I guess they have their hands full ATM
Thanks a lot!
Cheers,
Tom

As in MachFIve a library contains of a folder with subfolders:EvilDragon wrote:Sure, you can do that. Everything you do can be contained in a single folder, so it's a simple installation for the end user.bob.baffy wrote:Maybe @sampleconstruct or @evildragon can answer this?:

Programs
Samples (with subfolders)
Images (for scripted interfaces)
the scripts don't have to be included as they are embedded in the patches (if there are any scripts involved).
The sample paths are relative so there won't be missing sample-messages once installed on any internal or external drive.
