Really looking forward to this  . How will the registration be :?: . Hopefully not Ilok hardware
dongle.
Mr J. Robinson on drums (and probably the eternal Da Costa on percs at the end of the track). Drums sound somewhere between a LinnDrum 1 and a Drumtracks. Sounds of an era.

I'll try to emulate this one more/less. Love that track.

No need for a physical dongle afaik. Soft Ilok, similar to NI c/r, will certainly be a possible choice.

+1

I would be interested in it even more :). Waiting for the sound demos! :tu:
Copyright problems with StYX. But I suppose one will be able to call it like this inside his head, if so prefered

StiX has been designed to be extremely fast and intuitive to work with, yet very powerfull for those who enjoy pushing things to the extreme. Well more details will come as time goes, but this is the global idea.( or one way to expose it )
yum yum!! something in the Line of Elektron drum machines with parameter locking to the sequencer?
Hmmmm I don't know. what is precisely *Sequencer parameter locking* in the Elektron drum machines ?

I know, I know :) I just immediately heard "Arigato Mr. Roboto" in my head :) And I WILL call it StyX inside my head :hihi:

Does soft iLok allow for offline activation like the NI c/r system?

basically you can set different parameters values at every sequencer step
i.e.

First step : bass drum decay = 0.5, snare cutoff = 0.1 etc...(for all synthesis parameters)
Second step : bass drum decay = 0.1, snare cutoff = 0.8 etc...(for all synthesis parameters)

...but sincerely 'cause i do more complicated rhythmic stuff i would use DAW piano roll and VST automation for parameters...

..but again i guess a lot of guys are more in the step sequencing stuff...

I think so -iirc- ( not 100% sure though )

Ok. So yes regarding this its comparable to Elektron drum machines.

This said, StiX sequencer also does a lot of things that would be quite difficult and time consuming to make in a daw (like per step macros as a simple exemple). Even for expert users.

And it also does some things that are impossible to make in a Daw. The rising of daws is somewhat tied in a linear way to an average decline of the drum machines. So the only drum machines that will survive well -imo- are the simplest ones (very fast workflow, less power) . Or the ones that will be able to make things daws cant do, and things daws can do, but that can be made in a much easier way inside a drum machine. ( and still have a f.a.S.T workflow) At least, this is how I see things, and it was one of my motivations/goals when designing StiX.

looking forward to this, but who came up with the name ?

I own a few actual hardware drum machines, analog and digital.

I can tell you with some certainty that you do not use drum-sticks with a drum machine.

I'm also interested in this but was wondering about the announcement; "...this Analog Drum Machine also has hybrid and cross-synthesis modules on board". Analog drum machine? Why couple of hints about being a hybrid hardware when it's certainly not going to be one? I'm fine with digital drum software, it doesn't have to be sold as something it's not.

"analog" word is a must in promoting plugins these days.

" You don't need drum sticks if you have StiX "

But yes that's the idea. StiX will be your virtual sticks.

You're right, StiX is a virtual instrument, and *analog* is meant as a shortcut and just here to avoid long sentences like 'analog modelled* *virtual analog* etc etc. So strictly speaking it's true it not analog as in *analog=hardware*. Sorry if some people understood it this way. I dont know if mentioning its a virtual instrument will be enough to avoid the ambiguity. Or maybe this needs to be changed/adapted to be more precise, and not lead to possible misunderstandings. Thanks for pointing this out.

The heart of StiX synthesis is analog modelled. In depth, and with the *woody quality* of Xils-Lab synths.( Yes, I know *woody* can lead to as many comments as *warm* or similar terms, but that's just how I see, or hear, it )
