Yes they can be.
Modwheel to LFO depth or stuff like that can be easily done.

I have MachFive 3. I would like to know for Falcon what are the main differences with MachFive and what would be the reasons why it would be an essential "upgrade" if it is. Thanks!

No it didn't. Seems stable. Haven't really tried to beat the hell out of it yet (looking forward to it) but I'm fairly confident at this point that it'll be fine even though Cubase can be a little flaky. Someday will have to bite the bullet and either upgrade or get a new DAW altogether. Never really been 100% happy with Cubase since day 1.

After messing with Falcon a little more last night during an episode of back-pain related insomnia, I think it has a sort of Serum type sound....without the huge CPU load, thank God! Falcon also has a bit of a Roland V-Synth vibe to me....at least from what I remember when I owned a V-Synth for a few months last year. I loaded in a few samples from my Art of Noise sample collection and had some fun. I'll need to crack open the manual though, as I am not the greatest programmer, but most of Falcon seemed easy enough after poking around in it for a while.

Just wanted to let everyone know that all of our libraries are now Falcon Compatible: http://store.gospelmusicians.com/UVI/

We are up to 8-libraries now and they would be a good counterpart to your Falcon experience.

Simon from Patchpool posted a "Multi Granular Explained" in case anyone missed it-

I have a feeling that we're going to see some great stuff from Simon coming in the near future....which makes me VERY excited. :tu:

Oh yeah, I almost forgot about my TGX-99 Gospel Musicians UVI lib....it worked perfectly in Falcon. :tu:

Hi, could someone give me arough idea of the number of patches included with this thing?

Post

450ish.

450 patches didn't seem like enough to me, if I'm being honest. When I first got into synths in the early to mid 80's, you would usually get maybe 64 or 100 patches... and be happy about it. Heck, I remember paying goof money just for expansions of just 20 patches......but then came Eric from Spectrasonics who ruined it by including thousands of presets in Omnisphere, so now we're all spoiled.

OH CRAP!!! I just realized that this is my 666th post. :o  :help:

When I first got into synths there were no presets. Hell, there was no way to save presets. We used patch sheets.

It's one of the reasons why I haven't at all been spoiled by all this new stuff. I'm happy for whatever extras I get as long as it sounds good.

Certainly could be more in Falcon, but at least most are somewhat useful.
Can't say the same for Omni. Enough Tuvan already! :D

I just bought and downloaded. Amazing 'desert island' synth, really do does everything well, interface looks like it was designed by iZotope...its going to take a long time to get in to this, it does a hell of a lot, the pre-sets give you an idea what it can do, combine alchemy, serum, Kontact (with scripting). Omnispheres.... its a great buy for the price- a few 20% off offers around as well as the introductory price...

May have just nicked soft synth of the year IMHO, I have Omni 2, prefer Falcon, and it is half the cost.
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Well, I was going to create a 2 Terabyte state-of-the-art Tuvan library for Falcon, but perhaps I should rethink this now. :?

This!
Particularly the mixing of samples with virtual analog and ability to apply exclusive modulation envelopes and LFOs to many different parts of the signal chain. Of course Falcon adds wavetable and granular oscillators to the equation.

p.s. I'm actually using a V-Synth as a MIDI controller for Falcon :)
