How do you create your own Soundbank or is this not even possible? I'm not finding anything on how to do this.
Easy, just compile everything into one folder with the library name, create subfolder for Programs/Samples (with sample subfolders if you wish) Wavetables/Images (for scripted interfaces and wavetable re-synthesis)) and that's it. As the paths to the assets are relative, the end user will not be confronted with missing file-messages.

EDIT:
and set the folder structure up before you start making patches, so that the correct paths are embedded in each patch.
So something like this?

Main Folder Name: MyFolder

Sub Folders:

ARPs
Leads
Pads
etc.

How exactly though is the UFS file (like the one I downloaded) created? I don't see a compile command in any of the menu options.

UFS file are only available for registered UVI 3rd party developer. (long story short, we take a fee but it works in UVIWorkstation similar to Kontakt Player thingy)

You can't edit wavetables, you will create these outside of Falcon e.g. in Serum, you can create wavetables from imported images though, just drag and drop an image on the WT synth, and you can create single cycle waveforms from wav samples, just drop a wav in the WT synth and it will isolate the first single cycle of that sample, if it's not truncated properly nothing much will be extracted though.
Hmmm... could this thing be the software Fizmo we all dream about? Well, I mean, I dream about.

I have ben on it all day today, first VST I have not been able to stop playing with since I got in to modular....its a beast, the pre-sets are good, but probably haven't scratched the surface yet- the single patches are pretty full with all the layering, but throw together a multiple and you are in one finger heaven....who needs a DAW!!!

I now have the answer to the question 'if you could only have one VSTi.....'

Magnificent effort UVI, and no hype, smashed it.
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

I assume there'll never be The Universal Fizmo, but Falcon goes a long, long way for sure. The most complete hybrid monster on the market atm that I know of.

Hold on. Let me make sure I understand this.

If I want to create a sound library to sell as a 3rd party developer, I have to register with UVI and pay a fee to do this?

No, no, no - if you want to use a protected UFS file you will have to license the UVI player, but you can release stuff subito the way I described to you.

WUT? Is this new? With a $100 coupon... I can't afford to NOT buy this thing.

Well having looked at the getting started video I can't see enough to make me jump ship from Mach Five 3. In fact in some ways building a patch is more complicated than Mach Five 3.... and the only valuable addition is the multiple grain granular engine....but maybe Motu will update theirs at some point.

The splitting of the browser columns is good however.

But overall the cross grade price would have to be in the less than $100 region for me to think about it.

Obviously though, licensing the player and having a branded UVI file (I'm assuming these can be branded like the factory library) is more professional, no?

I guess it depends on how much the fee itself is. If we're talking hundreds of dollars it may not be worth it.

Is there a link I can go to in order to get licensing information?

If you want to know the confidential licensing terms, contact UVI and they will send you an NDA first before telling you.

To get a feel for the sample editor I re-created the Imperfect Samples Fazioli Concert Grand (Basic) for Kontakt in Falcon today.
This is fun!
The bigger screen compared to Kontakt really helps (fullscreen on a 30", yay :-) ) and overall I found it quite self-explanatory.
There still is a lot to explore, but so far this is the most impressive virtual instrument workstation I ever used.

Keeping a monster like this as clear GUIwise as it is is a masterpiece.
Kudos to whoever did the Interface design and layout.

The documentation could use quite a bit more depth though, many things stay very shallow.
Some hands-on best practice/different-ways-to-skin-a-cat examples would also help.

As for number of presets and sample content: I am one of the people who hardly ever use the bread and butter samples included with Samplers and DAWs and I find it refreshing that this one is not weighted down with gigs of five-more-pianos-and-one-hundred-more-sampled-synths... ;-)
In light of UVI being a sample reseller it makes sense to me to have Falcon as a "Workstation-Pro" and let the user decide what samples to get. That I personally am not a huge fan of the existing UVI sample packages is another topic, but I'm sure that more 3rd parties will now think about providing Falcon content and maybe UVI will also sell dedicated Falcon-Sound packages in the future that are more like the included factory content (which is pretty awesome).

What I found funny: I can drag in .exs and .nki files and for a short moment it looks as if they will be imported (the cursor also suggests successful drag and drop), sometimes even a new program is getting created, but it stays empty. So I guess there is either some old import code left or it is a sign that at one point we will see more import options.
Would be very helpful go at least have basic .exs and .nki import.

I think Kontakt 6 has to really deliver something major to not fall behind now!

Cheers,

Tom

Can I ask if you are a Mach Five 3 user?

MF3 does indeed support .nki so I am surprised Falcon does not. Note that if the .nki has scripts it will will not import, but basic .nki should. Try importing a blank .nki maybe.

Can Falcon read wavetables created for Dune 2 too? For some reason my favourites even when the synth is not so advanced for wavtables like Serum f.e.
Would be great since Dune 2 seems to get an own wavetable editor in near future. So i could use it as my wavetable creator maybe. Serum is not my cup of tea and there is no really proper wavetable creator software for OSX out there (at least nothing for a beginner like me).
I really like to use the same wavetables and or other things in different tools to see where is the different and how far i can go with my imagination in different tools.
However, now i think it would be a crime to not buy it when someone is even slightly interested in sound design :tu:
