OK a serious question from another forum (Motunation), can Falcon import/convert all the same file formats that MachFive 3 can? The PDF says nothing, and the web pages on both products make Falcon look like it can't.

Just some pages back otristan said that sfz is the only format supported for sample library import.
So people with Mach Five 3 should keep it as library converter

Why on earth would they decrease functionality? Maybe that was MOTU's contribution? or a third party deal?
It would be great to know what else is missing from the sampler side, so far M53 has a bigger library and converts older library formats... is that it? It's a PITA that the two can't have a fact sheet comparison.

When mentioning crashes it always helps to name the OS and DAW you're using, or add standalone if that was the case.

I guess something is going on behind the curtains that they can't talk about.
Since we don't know why it's no longer Motu Mach Five and the reasons behind that move, we can only speculate.
Could be importer-licensing issues, could be they think it's a good idea to focus Falcon on UVI libraries (it isn't) or many other things we don't know anything about...
I don't care for the sample library (the only one I like (Xtreme FX) I already have) but more import options would have been good.

I wanna buy Falcon during the sale ... however I don't meet the required system specs ... but I will be doing a full computer upgrade within the next 6 months. Can I buy Falcon now ... and wait to both register and download it when my computer upgrade is complete? Seems logical that this should be permissible but I wanna be sure.

Well in regards to Mach 5 importing sample formats such as akai it really wasn't good at that anyway. But it would be nice if falcon could import a few more sample formats. I own Mach 5 and now also falcon.

2 layers: one with the granular OSC and the second with the Analog OSC.
Not the best performance but I still kept the first take.
Make sure you can listen to the low end.

You could buy/register/download now/store on external drive and install later I think.
Else, send support an email and ask.

I don't think there is a limit on how long you can take until you install and register. That's up to you.
And UVI let's you download things whenever you need to.

thanks man, something i didnt see on the pics etc. if the sampler has options like reverse play and sample start options? + pitch



this is important as i already can imagine to do 1 patch with e.g. 2 granular sounds + 4 sampler layers etc. then you get an ultimate drone/soundscape

This is the case.

The coupon is however valid only two month after registration (not 2 month after buying the product)
so you are safe as long as you don't register your serial.

You can of course play sample reversed and change sample start
