I am interested in Falcon because of its completeness, especially regarding effects, not so much exotic synth methods. No idea what Redux and Ircam are and I probably would not use them anyway.

Redux is a high-quality lo-fi effect, IRCAM oscillators are various high-quality granular and time-stretching engines etc.

Oh my, I don't think I would ever use that
Just read some interesting posts in another Falcon thread, I wish there were only one thread on Falcon...
I am really tempted to get it, it seems a bargain when you think how little more it costs compared to a basic synth such as Sylenth or Oddity 2. But I am scared that once I buy it, I find out it doesn't work well on my computer

From what you've told us regarding your experience with other synths that don't even register a blip on my PC, I wouldn't even consider getting it. I think you will run into nothing but problems.fluffy_little_something wrote:Oh my, I don't think I would ever use that![]()

And FWIW, this is pretty much going to be the case for you with most synths, especially as PCs get more powerful and VSTs take advantage of that power until you finally upgrade your computer.
There is no way around that.

I had a great time playing with Falcon yesterday. Absolutely love it and I haven't even scratched the surface.
The GUI is fantastic and that really adds to the whole sound design experience for me.
It's got a convolver I can use to load my crazy Diego Stocco impulses in!
Only little things I would like to see (and this stuff might even be possible...I'm still way early on the learning curve) :
when I use the tuner to tune a sample I can't see it on the edit page...I have to go to the mix page and then toggle back and forth which is a pain. Please tell me this is me being stupid and I'm doing it wrong.
Also I own Relayer and would love it if this was a part of Falcon or, since I own it anyway, I could somehow use it within Falcon. It's miles better than the included delay effects.
But overall big huge thumbs up! This thing is so much fun to use. I own Padshop Pro, Halion 5, Alchemy and Mach 5 3 and Falcon is definitely the total badass new kid on the block.

For the tuner you can click the eye icon in the header in order to put it in an external window.w1awb wrote:I had a great time playing with Falcon yesterday. Absolutely love it and I haven't even scratched the surface.

My PC broke like two weeks ago. While they could repair it, I think I will get a second computer, anyway, because I was unable to work for almost a week when it was broken. I have had two computers most of the time in the past, but currently only one, which is a bit risky when one needs the computer for work as well. So, I might as well get a powerful computer for music and keep this old one as a spare.wagtunes wrote:From what you've told us regarding your experience with other synths that don't even register a blip on my PC, I wouldn't even consider getting it. I knew it! It had to be the infamous "user error"! Thanks Olivier...very cool.

Really is the only way to describe it though. Redux sounds like old samplers in a way that I've never been able to achieve with other bit crushers or decimation effects.

I'm in.
Just purchased it from Sweetwater.
Still waiting for the 'Download link' to be emailed.
Someone mentioned a $100 voucher from UVI upon purchase ?
Details?

Thanks, I have the same problem on Windows and I guess I added the place from places...woodsdenis wrote:Just reported the same bug, if you go to the non tree browser at the top you can right click and remove them, I got them by adding folders into "places" from within places. Also will happen if folder does not exist anymore.secretkillerofnames wrote:I've just reported a bug. Not sure if anyone else can confirm this but:
"Favorite places" I've added in previous sessions show up as unclickable icons that cannot be deleted.
I'm using OSX 10.10, v1.0.0. x64 of Falcon.
Cheers,
Tom
