Well, if I do enter this month, I will have to stick to the presets because I will go blind trying to program this thing.
Sorry, but it's a crying shame that a synth made in 2015 (yes, that's the latest build) has a GUI smaller than Arturia synths.
Oh well, such is life.
** EDIT ** I've decided to skip this one. Good luck to all the contestants. I'll still be voting when the time comes.

Have you tried the other skins, some of them display parameters as numerical values, no knobs or sliders.wagtunes wrote:Well, if I do enter this month, I will have to stick to the presets because I will go blind trying to program this thing.

Yeah, I'm not exactly a massive fan of FM, but it might be a cool challenge. I'm still finishing up my synth, though, which may leave little time this month, who knows. Mine, however, may be cpu hungry...still have to optimize a lot, but then it's also because you can do quite a lot with it, hehehe. Ah well...
Anyway, cool!
Oh, and I immediately switched skins to that other one with the numeric LCD look. The original look drives me bonkers, hahaha...

How do I get the other skins and are they any bigger? If not, it won't matter. Numbers that I can't read are no better than graphics that I can't read.Daru925 wrote:Have you tried the other skins, some of them display parameters as numerical values, no knobs or sliders.wagtunes wrote:Well, if I do enter this month, I will have to stick to the presets because I will go blind trying to program this thing.

Sorry, there is just no excuse for this is 2015. Who uses resolutions small enough to read this thing? And I'm not even on that big a resolution by today's standards. Only 1280x1024.

I m not big fan of knobs for fm softsynths, so i tried this one.
You dl the skin from the official website and unzip the "skin" folder where your vsti dll is.

Thanks. The TX skin is MUCH better. I might be able to pull this off now.Daru925 wrote:I m not big fan of knobs for fm softsynths, so i tried this one.

Nice to see an OSC that's doable for Linux users!
One question, though: FM without using chorus effects, really?
If you're using Arch Linux, I've packaged oxefmsynth in the Arch User repository (AUR):

I'm really starting to like this synth.
The modulation matrix scared me a bit but it's actually pretty easy to work with.

I don't understand how to apply the different skins. I have put the image files into the folder with the vst dll.wagtunes wrote:Thanks. The TX skin is MUCH better. I might be able to pull this off now.Daru925 wrote:I m not big fan of knobs for fm softsynths, so i tried this one.
