But UVI has developed everything for Machfive now haven't they? So when they upgrade the engine and cut the relationship with Motu that makes Machfive customers left with a product that won't be updated no matter if it was purchased 2 weeks ago. Didn't UVI earn on Machfive customers?
You're making lots of assumptions about the relationship between MOTU and UVI. MOTU could have had a X year exclusive on the UVI engine (excluding the player/workstation). Otherwise why no direct M5 competition all these years, even from UVI themselves?

Flash forward. UVI can continue the relationship, or go a different route. Meanwhile, MOTU has been SITTING on M5 updates for years. How does UVI benefit from a stale product? You can't have revenue without sales. UVI tells MOTU: if YOU'RE not going to make M5 a priority, then we'll do it ourselves, and you guys can suck it. Go sell hardware for all we care.

Or M5v4 was ready to go and either UVI or MOTU wanted a bigger cut.

Or the exclusive expired, and UVI just took complete ownership of the platform to cash is themselves.

I'm thinking it might br something closer to the first thing. But who knows. Point is: why place blame/assign responsibility when you don't exactly why things are the way they are?
You need to limit that rez, bro.

Although, the "appearance" of radical nose-hairs is generally one of those "where did all those come from?" (as if overnight; like inch long "chin-hairs") things, that sneaks up on me, I'll make a point of letting them grow back deliberately, and (actually) recording that 'phenomena', for you.

{aside} I've been "sampling", since my Dad gave me a "Dictaphone" back in the late 50's [not a typo] and progressed with the technology (tape/ADAT/mini-disc, et al) and innumerable hardware rack-mount/keyboard samplers.

I'm currently working on converting/adapting what I have managed to stash/salvage from other "media", as well as current 'works', for a number of libraries for Kontakt.

Falcon is a timely no-brainer at the intro price-point, and will help immeasurably in making those libraries, AND provide yet another outlet. win/win.

Thanks again for your enthusiasm, interest, and acumen for 'sharing', Simon.

Much appreciated. 8)

I'm not a musician, but I've designed sounds that others use to make music. http://soundcloud.com/obsidiananvil

I have been using an electric nose-hair-cutter, works fine and looks better :)
At the age of 9 a friend and me did a radio play using a dictaphone, we loved to speed up our voices by only pressing the play button half down, we laughed our heads off and so did my dad when we presented our play to him.

Sounds like a life time's work you're about to compile, great effort and good luck with it, Falcon should be an ideal platform to present these sounds.

It's been a pleasure to create some enthusiasm around Falcon and it's been a pleasure working with the devs over the last months, the UVI crew is a cool bunch of people!

Bump. No way to access the samples in the ufs files? I find it weird that an instrument partially based on samples doesn't come with any samples to play with. I must be missing something...
We only give access to the sample when it could be useful to make your own patch like Beat Box Anthology.
Not sure people are going to do something of 10000 piano samples.
In case of Falcon Library, we didn't saw that as useful, maybe a mistake of us, but you can easily just strip down the preset you like and/or use the save the sample as.

Hope this clarify things.
Thanks for the clarification. IMO it's indeed a mistake to not make the samples more accessible. I'd really appreciate a way to browse library samples in the browser in a future update.

I hope I'm posting in the right thread... I've been playing around with Falcon but couldn't figure out how to do the following..

1) reset knobs to default (tried ctrl click, shift click, delete..)

2) set a whole sample to loop. I've figured out how to set a loop within a sample, which works fine except that if I opt to play the sample backwards, the loop no longer works. Is it possible to set the whole sample to loop and then reverse the playback and have it loop?

Any help on these issues gratefully received!

Alt+click is reset to default.

I didn't realize Gospel Musicians developed in Kontakt? I thought it was all uvi.

If I'm understanding your question right yes, just 'Select all' in the sample editor before creating the loop (can be done by right-click or hotkey).

Is there a way to hide the left and right panes? They take up too much space when I don't need to view them. I'd like to be able to resize the center pane or just get it a bit larger.
Audition feature needs a loop button similar to Studio One's.

Right now, you cannot have at the same time a sample looped and play it reverse using the regular Sample oscillator.

This works fine with granular oscillator though.

In the top header, they are icons to do that on the right of Main/Mixer/Perf button

How do I use the voucher code on the german UVI site? There is no field to paste the code at the last step of the buying process.

Any reason why the file browser collapses everything each time I go to a different tab and come back?
I am twiddling down to the same sample folder in Places now for the dozenth time...
Can it please just keep the view and open folders as it was?
This is using the standalone on Windows 8.1 x64...

Thanks,

Tom
