UVI Falcon - v4 = 2026 released - rumors, ads, praise, kindergarden, auto-sampling and off-topic inside!

I drag a sample into the keyboard zone at the bottom. A sampler is created with the sample. I copy the sample with the right mouse menu. I create an IRCAM Grain oscillator. I rightclick in the empty area but Paste is greyed out?
If I first insert a sample, paste works.
I then deleted the sampler, inserted a multi-grain osc, tried the same (put a sample in and paste from right mouse menu) and Falcon crashed (first time for me).
Cheers,
Tom

Thanks. I can't get the resize pane arrows to work; when I hover over the pane border, I can barely get the double-headed arrow and when I do, I click to resize, only to have it disappear again.otristan wrote:In the top header, they are icons to do that on the right of Main/Mixer/Perf buttonMusical Gym wrote:Is there a way to hide the left and right panes? Thanks to all who've contributed here, regarding the situation for M5_3 owners.
I own M5_3, plus I own nearly every library UVI have released (every one that I wish to own/use), so I really don't need/want a UVI library voucher as a "sweetener" for "moving over" to Falcon. I don't wish to be ungrateful, and I guess it's hard to come up with a solution that appeals to every different case, but the only thing that would do it for me as an M5-3 plus "massive" UVI product owner, would be a really decent discount crossgrade offer for moving over to Falcon - particularly if M5-3 ends up being parked forever.
I wait with baited breath for an announcement

If MachFive is no longer being developed, they really should offer crossgrade pricing and NOT a voucher. I want the enhanced granular functionality, not another sample library.

One of the reasons I bought early is because I don't see a price cut as the logical choice. Here's a couple reasons why I think that:parma wrote:If MachFive is no longer being developed, they really should offer crossgrade pricing and NOT a voucher. UVI probably had a lot of re$tructuring (costs $$) to do to get Falcon up and running.
We have no idea why the relationship with MOTU seems to have gone, but it's as likely MOTU as UVI who were the reasons it did.
The verifying of licenses is likely to cost them some as well, since they would probably have to go through PACE iLok support to do so.
All this is real money out of their pocket, add that to a couple thousand possibly more licenses and it's not chump change.
At least with the software / shop voucher they lose 'possible' sales instead of more money.
The upgrade from M52 to M53 was $175, so already $239 is a jump, but nothing like what I'm now paying to upgrade Live VS ten years ago...
All this is why I went ahead and bought from Best Service instead of waiting. I think a voucher is the most likely upgrade path they can offer. People complain about their libraries pretty unfairly IMO, some aren't that great, but others are pure butter.

The error in this thinking is that $239 (or $229 as I've seen actually) is the price for the FULL Falcon for ANYONE who has not paid anything to UVI or MOTU before. A crossgrade or upgrade always takes into account that the user is already a former customer and as such has already spent a decent amount for a software that has let's say 50-70% of the same functional extent of the new version.machinesworking wrote: The upgrade from M52 to M53 was $175, so already $239 is a jump, but nothing like what I'm now paying to upgrade Live VS ten years ago...
The only problem here now is that these are two different companies and we can't really expect nor demand an upgrade.
Speaking for myself, I am really glad that they consider such an option at all and would be very pleased if they come up with it in the next days (or hours).
On the other hand, if they don't come up with this, nobody forces us to buy Falcon and as no official of MOTU has confirmed that the development of MachFive has ceased, there is still a chance that there will be MachFive 4 some day and we will have the upgrade option when this day comes.

I was experimenting with the pluck synth this early morning, and captured some of it live on video:
layering a pluck synth with an analog bass sound, using velocity and two free running LFOs to modulate numerous parameters. The pluck is running in unison mode (3 voices) with unison modulator applied to pitch/pan and some parameters within the pluck module, the synth bass unison with 2 voices.

You can as well duplicate the sample on the HD, reverse the sample content using the bundled wave editor (right click on the waveform > Reverse)otristan wrote:Right now, you cannot have at the same time a sample looped and play it reverse using the regular Sample oscillator.sazb30 wrote: 2) set a whole sample to loop. I've figured out how to set a loop within a sample, which works fine except that if I opt to play the sample backwards, the loop no longer works. Is it possible to set the whole sample to loop and then reverse the playback and have it loop?
This works fine with granular oscillator though.
and loop your sample.

I am twiddling down to the same sample folder in Places now for the dozenth time...
Can it please just keep the view and open folders as it was?
This is using the standalone on Windows 8.1 x64...
Thanks,

Because this copy/paste is about sample content where you can select a portion and copy it in another sample (in a destructive way) hence you need a sample to copy in.ThomasHelzle wrote:I drag a sample into the keyboard zone at the bottom. In your case, it easier to duplicate the keygroup using the mapping right click menu.

In plugin format, you cannot resize the plugin by dragging its border but need to use the main menu and predefined size.Musical Gym wrote:Thanks. Olivier - are we still on track to get news today about the M53 upgrade/crossgrade/voucher/rebate situation ? Any idea when this will happen and how it will be communicated - will there be an 'official' announcement via email or on the UVI website ?
