Awesome! Thanks for the tip.

Question about the voucher. Do you have to purchase for the whole amount or will you receive the difference in a new voucher? I want to buy Scratch Machine and that's $39.

What i really like in Falcon is all the easy drop and drag stuff. The FX are really great and there are a lot. The OSC´s in general are O.K. but not the best for everything of course. There is a reason why there are so many synths out there.
The truth is if there was a demo.... i think i had not bought it because i can´t use this tool in depth since the cpu hit is heavy when you add all that layers. Creating more complex patches is not possible for me and sometimes it works still better to just layer 3-4 different synths and save it as instrument patch. Falcon is a bit like a little DAW but also need a lot resources if you want more than simple sounds. The UI is nice so far but very heavy on the eyes in short time on a notebook. I really would like to have customizable XY pads where i could add as many parameters on each axis like i want. So it would be also great for a multitouch device.
However, it´s a great 1.0 release!

So I have this wavetable setup in keygroup 1 with some modulations and stuff but I created another keygroup and want to move the wavetable part to keygroup 2 without losing any of the modulation assignments. Surely this must be possible somehow? I tried dragging and dropping in the tree view but I can't do it. There's also no copy/cut/paste available. So far the workaround I've found is to save a preset and then reload that preset in a newly created wavetable osc in the other keygroup but this way I lose all the modulation I had assigned.
Copy the keygroup then paste it.

Right click on keyzone and choose move to new layer from the menu.

Just for the record. Mine is showing as registered but I didn't receive the crossgrade offer ;-).
Thanks. Tech-support finally got in touch with me and asked me to register xtreme effects as proof of ownership so I guess I wasn't too far off. Not sure how I'm supposed to do that since I already registered but I'm sure it'll all get worked out.

Ok Im happy that nothing gets ruined anyway :-D. Im actually thinking of buying it at best service and get the extra voucher. The price is almost the same because of the €20 discount from Best Service.

Without vat it's only a difference of $21 :-O. So I get $100 for 21. The only problem is that I already have everything at UVI. Or almost. Vintage Vault, Sparkverb and Relayer....
It's actually not an obvious decision.
IMO anyway it's obvious. Sparkverb will replace a few reverbs I have now, so they can go up for sale. I don't own all the UVI stuff, but the two libraries I want are more nostalgic than anything else, Darklight and the Emulator ones.
I don't 'need' them. Sparkverb can replace my Eventide and Lexicon plug ins, at least for what I do, and beyond that I own Altiverb, so the two are a good combo. 8)

yes. everyone take note of what a shrewd customer machinesworking is. because the last thing we should think is that he's made anything less than the right, smart choice in buying Falcon when and as he did.

No what I meant was that in my situation it's not obvious because I have most of the libraries from UVI. I'm hoping that they will release some new ones before the vouchers run out. What I did was to buy it at Best Service and to get another $100 voucher code.

That's a very good workaround! Would be nice if we could just drag and drop elements from a keygroup within the tree. Anyhow, this works very well for now. Thanks!

I eat soup with a spoon. I cut meat with a knife and then use a fork to move the meat into my mouth. I've adopted this complex philosophy in my use of more than one synth. No desert islands in sight for me. I like Falcon. :D

The only thing I need for this beast is a more in depth tutorial with sound design examples.

bmanic wrote: Anyhow, so to make it clear: From MY perspective, Falcon is actually severely limited in a multitude of ways.. It seems that to get things working the way I need it to, I have to go through a setup that feels like a work around to me.
Could you clarify what are those multiple of ways ?

I agree that mod source that needs triggering can only be used on per voice parameter.
Although this is something that few people would use, I can see their use.
but please let me know what are you other gripes ?

thanks !
Hi Olivier, I've been using Falcon for 4-5 days and I really love it......the features and the amount of possibilities is what makes it so Special....but there are 2-3 things that are blocking the way towards getting deep into Sound Designing with Falcon....

1 - As Pointed out in posts above, there's no retrigger with every note at layer/program level.....it's a big issue for me as I tend to layer a whole lot of sound and then use the Filter or Mods to shape that layered sound....Yes, I can layer at key group level, but with key group stacks you cannot pan or level or even change Coarse tune individually, you have to create a new key group.....and then I can put a Filter Fx on the layer level....but then I can't use ADSR on filter.....putting Filter FX and Putting ADSR individually on each n every key groups becomes a tedious process.....

2 - There should be Mix Knob for all the Fx especially for the filters, I like using Filter Stacks to tone the Sound, I tried using AUX for the Same...putting Vowel Filter on the AUX and Mixing with the Original, Works good but then again no Mod Retrigger With AUX Fx as well...

3 - Sudden CPU Spikes at every note trigger with the IRCAM Scrub even when limited to just 1 Voice....try modulating the Position knob, Scrubs well with Sustained note but CPU spikes with new note trigger...

There are a few bugs as well that needs to be ironed out, I'll point out some later.....but other than that I've been enjoying designing with it, and I can really go deep and enjoy to the max if that retrigger mod source is sorted out....for now I kinda layer sounds in Falcon and use Zebrify with external MIDI retrigger to do those sweet Filtered Plucky Sounds.....

2 - you can use effect racks on keygroup level to run filters in parallel, then you can e.g. assign Macros to control the level of each involved filter.
