Edit, missed the overnight conversation about this, it seems you can't apply any note trigger based mod at the layer or program level, why ?

Why can't I modulate the gain on the layer level with an adsr of any type , it doesn't seem to get a trigger. This thing is time consuming in a good way.
always another surprise around the corner.

I Appreciate when Devs hear us and do their best....it's all we want....try your best, if Possible then life is even better, if not possible then we can definitely adjust to the workarounds .....mdsp wrote:It's perfectly fine and recommended to create an envelope at the Program / Layer level in order to share common settings. So there's no reason to forbid that.EvilDragon wrote:Perhaps greyed out would be better (similarly to how Sparkverb and some other FX are greyed out at Keygroup level).
However we heard you and we will see what we can do to make trigger work for module parameters that are not polyphonic (added to our issue tracker).
BTW here's a tip that works for non-polyphonic parameters (but is not a replacement for note trigger) : the AnalogADSR has a manual trigger button. You can connect another modulation source to it (e.g. an LFO or a step envelope) to make it retrigger at the mod source rate like you would do with a modular synth. Very useful to create rhythmic patches.
Some Really good advises by Simon, Olivier and others, the workarounds are as good as i wanted....but then again the note retrigger boom will open up many doors.......

I'm having an idiot moment. I can't get the edit view to sync with the tree view. When I select an item in the tree, the associated thing does not get selected in the editor or vice versa. Is there a way to get that to happen? Watching a couple of videos makes it look like it should work that way.

Double click a treeview node will open the other page at the right position.SJ_Digriz wrote:I'm having an idiot moment. I can't get the edit view to sync with the tree view. But this is not the case for the main edit though.

This is not working for me for some reason. Nothing happens in the edit window if I click in the tree view.otristan wrote:Double click a treeview node will open the other page at the right position.SJ_Digriz wrote:I'm having an idiot moment. (Obvious feature request to have the option to locate in the tree when clicked in the edit windows

I take that back, it is working for FX but not layers, keygropus or oscillators. So, it pops to the Effects tab if I double click an effect, but not back to the edit tab if I double click an oscillator, keygroup, layer etc ... And, if I'm already on the edit tab, nothing happens.
Win 10, stand alone.

Messing with the interface some more.
Double Clicking takes me to the mod, effects and events tab for those types. But double clicking and oscillator or edit window object does not take me back to the edit window.
While in the Edit window single clicking an oscillator does select between them, but that doesn't work for mod or fx, layers or mixer options. However, it does work with mods. Also, if the window is collapsed in the editor, it does not come into view when double clicking. One of Simon's videos seems to show a collapsed window opening when he selects in the tree, then collapsing when he clicks another item in the tree.
So I probably just need to figure more things out, but this seems very inconsistent.

Ok after registering Falcon I have now gotten a crossgrade offer to Falcon from UVI instead of another voucherHans25 wrote:Ok. Thanks for the info. What if you want to use both $100 coupon at a single time? Is it possible to swap them. As far as I could see it was only possible to use 1 coupon at a time.otristan wrote:You cannot have partial use of the coupon but you can use it for a single purchase of multiple product.Hans25 wrote:Question about the voucher. Do you have to purchase for the whole amount or will you receive the difference in a new voucher? I want to buy Scratch Machine and that's $39.
Can you fix this otristan?

In the few hours I've had to get my head around the architecture I have a couple of quick impressions. I'm an avid Halion user and this seems more than anything to be along the Halion architectural concepts. This is a good thing from a sound design standpoint IMO. And, it has an accessible user/3rd party library development capability maybe not as robust, but in line with Kontakt. Also, this is a good thing IMO. That is a good combination I wish Steinberg would embrace.
Still wrapping my head around some of the interface quirks. And, learning the do's/don'ts of the modulation routing options is going to take a bit .. seems to be some odd limitations, or just newbitis. Anyhow, really really powerful tool. Thanks!

Why did I ever open this thread??
OK, so now that I've been tempted into adding both V Collection and Falcon to the pile, I won't need anything else for a long time? Right? Right??
In fact I've been keeping some money specifically for Mach Five, so this is actually perfect in many ways: cheaper and with a much stronger sense of momentum (I for one point all fingers to MOTU for the slowness of M5 development. Clearly Uvi has been updating their stuff -- otherwise M5 would never have become incompatible. That's MOTU's problem for not updating, though of course there might be contract details at play.)
But now I'm waiting for the license key from JRR Shop. It's taking a while (most of today).

While I still have not received an email with the MF3 crossgrade offer, I did get an email from UVI this morning about Falcon in general.
It doesn't look like the marketing department was working overtime on the ad copy. This little tidbit under "What People are Saying:"
"This is really a next-gen looking VST" - Youtube
Although I'm not sure how LOOKING next-gen is supposed to get me to buy any VST, I must say that I'm impressed that there is apparently universal agreement on this point by all of Youtube. Seriously? Youtube? How do you list "Youtube" as a reliable source of expertise for a testimonial?
KVR and Twitter are also listed.

In addition to being PST and daylight saving time, you have add that most of those guys are muso's. So you have to add 5 hours to get the musician standard time deviation. So sometime around noon = 7am PST .. of course that is +-5 hours depending on how the gig went last night.paulbreeze wrote:It's early in the morning for them ... :ceasless wrote:But now I'm waiting for the license key from JRR Shop.
