Just saw yesterday interesting documentary by Robert Fantinatto and Jason Amm:
a short history of modular synths "I Dream of Wires".
It sparked some thoughts I notice have also lately discussed here in the KVR, especially concerning the Eurorack standard
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 1&t=421244

Highly recommended film touched also computer world, where Arturia emulations represented that side, although hardware stuff was in the focus. Its interesting to see what the future holds in both sides.

I saw it, liked it. It definitely promoted the analog synth bias.

I think what Numan tried to express in that lyric is that wires is the past

So I press 'c' for comfort
I dream of wires, the old days

The future will be wireless

My guess is that it'll be both -avec and -sans. (And in the very long perspective "rien").

Check out the "hardcore edition" well worth a watch ;-)

What's in the hardcore ver. - more and deeper technical stuff?

Naked wires.

I LOVED it.

But, so many of those elitist bungs are so wrong. I mean, Trent Reznor is a hypocrite.

I also found it amusing in a "lots of laughs" way that the NY/moog scene was different from the "west cost drop acid and be a dork" scene

And I remembered good ol' KVR. Analog vs digital/virus/etc over the years

But still, very enjoyable. Love music docs (even if I don't agree with them always)

I've only seen the cut Netflix have, so Id have liked to have seen more chat with module makers too, rather than predominantly users. Any such thing?

I'd also like to see the full version. I don't have bluray.

I've got the hardcore version too but on DVD and Blu-ray.
I haven't got a Blu-ray player but wanted to get that medium too for the future (and in HD)
