I'm interested in putting together a curriculum for an electronic music course for the high school where I teach. I can sort of see it as a place for kids to learn about DAWs, synthesis, sampling and samplers, effects, sound design, composition, mixing, etc. The main problem I can see at the moment is that I can't imagine there being any space for recording with mics. And I assume that kids will want to record things like guitars, voices, singing. Our typical space would be simply a classroom with computers and I guess people would be working away with headphones.
Has anyone come across a high school EM course? How was recording handled?
Any other thoughts on this?

I think it's too much to think about circuits on music course. These are kids, give them one mic or let them record stuff with smartphones.
The general observation is that many people interested in music nowdays are clueless about physics and just want to jam around.

I also teach physics and hopefully an engineering physics course next year. Having the kids do circuits, synthesis and sound is coming but that would be a separate course!
