WTF! Awesome!!
The kind of sci-fi-alien-invasion-rythmic-world´s end stuff you can create then! I love it!
The big bummer is only i would like to load those samples easy and fast into the multi-granular OSC f.e.
without those annoying workarounds.
Yeah. Not having access to the files sucks, especially since the libraries are not exactly cheap. I hope they change their minds about this at some point, I can't see myself paying that kind of money (beyond the voucher) if the samples are locked in.

That's what's awesome at FXpansion. Every Geist library gives you a ton of samples to use wherever else you want. Incredible added value.
true , but i think its part of the copy protection , if uvi would unlock this there would be no need for there own ufs soundcontainer and ilok activation anymore . and where it would ends up you can imagine yourselves .
Mmhh yes, but how i said i still can just record samples if i wanted. So it´s possible to use all these samples when i want. It´s only some steps more. That doesn´t change the copyright.
If i wanted to "pirate" samples (of course i do not) it would not protect it anyway.
I have to accept that but for me there is a no-buy impulse for further libraries this way. I would rather buy special sample libraries somewhere else and import them into Falcon then.
That's only a theory, not even a hardcore torrent would re-sample a library which comes with 1000+ samples, only to re-package these and upload them to a torrent where he/she would get a few bucks for “sharing“ (and the torrent person would not own Falcon anyway, as it uses iLok 2 which seems safe so far). So protected archives like Falcon, HALion (vst-sound container) or Kontakt (monoliths) use, are at least some sort of protection against this disease. And speaking for myself, I am happy, the samples I provided for the Falcon factory library are protected, that way there is a small chance, that I won't find them on an asian ringtone site tomorrow, but only next month.

Well, that is true too :D But if i buy something which include samples i want to use them like i want (for my personal use only of course).
How i said... this let me don´t buy any libraries for Falcon in the future so far. Then it must be really outstanding shit
I could live with it if i just could drop and drag a single samples into another OSC.
The FX library f.e. comes mostly with single samples or multi sampled instruments.
I thought i could just change the OSC type from single sample f.e. to multi granular without having to import the sample again. That would solve this issue for me.

Well, you can.
Just hold mouse click on the oscillator type in the header and a popup menu appear allowing you to change its type.
Moving from one sample based osc to another keep the sample.

This is true for all modules in Falcon UI like if you want to change an FX type while keeping its position in the signal path or change a mod source type while keeping its connections.

Thank´s, that´s great! Is there a way to lock parameters and change patches then?
Edit: But Logic crashes always when i change a filter or FX this way.... OSC change works so far.
Another Edit: It crash not always... just sometimes. Will try it in another DAW.

I had the same problem.
Somehow I find this non-obvious.
Would it be possible to add a little triangle to the parts of the GUI which have this kind of delayed menu?
Many tools like Photoshop use such a triangle in the lower right corner to signify that there is additional options to be found when click-holding the icon.

Cheers,

Tom

I don't think that locking feature is feasible for a modular playground that Falcon is. You could lock one parameter only to find that parameter not existing in the next patch. Or that that parameter is on a completely different place.

Probably won't happen.

That makes sense, yes!

There is no lock.
This might be doable but only for module own presets though.

If you got some crashlog and/or steps to reproduce, don't hesitate to send those to our support

That Overdrive effect in Falcon in combination with the "Guitar Boxes" effect is quite crazy. I just played with a factory preset called "Justice Bass" in the "Distorted" category and for a short time i had the impression that my headphones will either exlode or melt or both at once... :D :help:

Additionally in that patch also a "Compressor Expander" and an EQ are involved so basically there are 4 FXs that together make taht patch sounds as graet as it does.

I had to reduce the volume for that patch as it was constantly clipping in Ableton Live 9. Anyway also with "normal" volume that patch still sounds great IMO. Should be interestein g to use that FX combination to really crank up a Sync Lead sound. As that patch is based on 3 Analog Oscs i alraedy checked activating the Sync in those and changing the waveforms which leads to interesting results.

Another cool patch is "Xtreme Saw" again in the "Distorted" category which is based on a Wavetable Osc wiith Phase distortion, the Xpander filter with a combined filter mode and a bunch of FXs added.

The distortion in Falcon is very tasty.
There are several variations and a broad range of harmonics are possible.
Using the limiters/compressors are useful in taming the levels.

Overall I really like the sound of the included effects.
The verbs are great, the EQ is good...
A great sounding audio architecture.

Can owners get access to betas? You could start a beta thread for bug reports.
