Hi,
here is my try to convert the oddity patch to u-he Beatzille.
It's not perfect due to some differences in the synths.
Oddity's ring mod always takes the square output of the oscillators, even if set to saw in the mixer.
When holding a bass note and playing a melody with the right hand oddity does not use the portamento, Beatzille does.

I'd love to see other attempts with other synths as well. Not only to sound exactly like it, but variations. I haven't been able to nail it with anything else (possibly due to the above peculiarities that I didn't know), but I've been able to make some absolutely gnarly variations on the theme with Diva. I'm not sure how duophonic is handled by synths with more than 2 oscillators though...

The only way to get Bazille is to get the physical magazine?

Actually, you can get the same effect with Beatzille and any of the u-he synths as I've just discovered. I don't know exactly how it works but set the offset ll into the negative values. The first oscillator (first note or lower note, pressed in duo mode) will glide but the second won't.Chris-S wrote:Hi,

Also - good news for the poster - You download u-he's Tyrell N6 for free, which can easily nail this sound. That synth seems like a cross between a juno 60 and an ARP Odyssey. It has everything you need for the bit the hand lead; A couple oscillators, pulse width modulation, ring mod, and duophonic mode. Beatzille, also free, can get quite close too.

I had Tyrell, but always considered it a kind of 'Juno+'. Time to look at it again.

My irrational fandom makes me want to buy this synth now.waltercruz wrote:Not only this one, but I see other patches named after Nin Songs (Copy of A, by example)Jace-BeOS wrote:They actually included a factory patch based on The Hand That Feeds? That's cool
No! Must save money till I'm actually forced into the upgrade by having Logic X!

Yeah the oscillators do have quite a Juno type sound. Originally I didn't pay much attention either but I got curious as I realized that u-he synths seem to always have the ring mod + duo trick, which is actually pretty rare. And imo is the big selling point of the odyssey (and oddity) is that.waltercruz wrote:Whan an awesome plot twist!Echoes in the Attic wrote:Also - good news for the poster - You download u-he's Tyrell N6 for free, which can easily nail this sound. Almost right in Zebra, but A+A one octave makes the envelope of the higher note sound weird.. My first week with Zebra

This is better than my last attempt on Zebra. The envelope has this nasty thing when you play a note and this same note a octave upper at the same time, but the other notes are ok. I still can't understand why this happens
