Jakob / Cableguys wrote:We are very happy to announce VolumeShaper 4.1!
It's a pretty big update and of course, it will be free for owners of VolumeShaper 4. It's all about UI and workflow:
- We've added a new drawing tool which allows to quickly add steps in the waveform (which is especially useful if you use VolumeShaper for trance-gate-like effects).
- It's now possible to resize the waveform area.
- We've added a running light which shows the position within the audio nicely.
- Waveform points are more clearly visible and buttons are bigger and more responsive.
Check this video for an overview of all new changes and for some hints on our wave editing (including the very handy selection of multiple waveform points):
I am sorry for the background noise in the video.. it was just a rough take, for a good overview on the beta for you.
Before release, we need your help. We've thoroughly tested VolumeShaper 4.1, but still we'd appreciate if you took a look too if there's anything not working on your system. Plus we'd be very interested in your feedback on the new features, if they work the way you'd like them to work. Feature-requests for future updates are also welcome.
We've just updated to beta version 3:
Download the beta version (demo version) (Win + Mac in 32 and 64bit for VST and AU).
If you already own VolumeShaper 4, you can log in to your account and download the latest beta from there.
Thanks again!

Off-topic: When I edit my first post it gets re-posted at the end of the thread..? Urgs.

Are you sure clicked 'Edit' and not 'Quote'? Looks like a quote to me

Because of this thread I bought Volumeshaper. Great tool. Saved me already a couple of times a lot of time, mainly when "correcting" loops.
What I miss though is that low level signals barely show a waveform. So my feature request (if it's not already in the beta):
- An option to turn on, so the waveform is always maxed

I'm also a big fan of resizable GUIs. Important that one default size can be saved, that is set when loading a new instance.Jakob / Cableguys wrote:It certainly will at some point. It's not (yet) top priority.. it does not get asked too often at the moment, but I guess its need will become bigger soon.SeeingInMidi wrote:Will volumeshaper ever get vector graphics? Works like a charm: Thank you very much Jakob!Jakob / Cableguys wrote:A new beta is out now - beta 3:Jakob / Cableguys wrote:Good idea! And it should be very easy to implement..GilJ wrote:May be one small FR: what would you think if when the "Snap to waveform grid button" is activated, then the waveform points which are being randomized, stay snapped to the grid?
Download the beta version (demo version) (Win + Mac in 32 and 64bit for VST and AU). When you hit the random button, randomized points now snap to the waveform if the grid-snapping is activated.
Plus this fixes a bug with help texts on Mac (often, they stopped scrolling).
One point I noticed when using the new drawing step tool: it's not very handy to draw a line at the top or the bottom of the waveform display. I mean you must be quite precise not getting out of the waveform display. Is there a way to quickly draw a top or bottom line even if the mouse pointer gets out of the display area, please? (not sure I'm very clear
Cheers,
GilJ.

Indeed - good finding! not soo easy to fix it seems, but we've scheduled it for the next small update.GilJ wrote:One point I noticed when using the new drawing step tool: it's not very handy to draw a line at the top or the bottom of the waveform display. As of this moment, the new version VolumeShaper 4.1 is online.
Plus Curve 2.6 and FilterShaper 3.3. The new drawing light does especially good with the new FilterShaper version, when doing more complex modulations with it.
You can download the new versions (with fully functional demos) at our website:

Speaking of that.. we've also relaunched our website - hope you like it!

The new site is nice. Is there a link/page anywhere to get to our account to change passwords, etc.?

Missed that, it's mentioned in the FAQ. Bit strange it can't be changed though...
