Wot? No Gold?? :P (O.K. I guess that's technically a "foil".. but there's no foil like an old one ;) )
There was an EMT240 gold foil plate at Avast Recording that we tested during the ValhallaPlate dev process. We listened to how the EMT240 sounded, and decided "nah." It is kind of a cool sound, but the EMT140 was SO MUCH COOLER.

Someone asked me via email how ValhallaPlate would fare with Vangelis type sounds.

Pretty decently, I'd say (although I might turn up the reverb time a little bit).

The preset used:

<ValhallaPlate pluginVersion="1.0.0" presetName="PlateRunner" Mix="1" PreDelay="0" Decay="0.86000001430511474609" Size="1" Width="0.5" ModRate="0.33199998736381530762" ModDepth="0.69999998807907104492" LowEQFreq="0.14100000262260437012" LowEQGain="0.5" HighEQFreq="0.24799999594688415527" HighEQGain="0.5" Type="0.2916666567325592041"/>

Damn ... well, PlateRunner is a pretty suck free preset. :)

For $50 there is absolutely no reason to pass this by. Really damn smooth.

Now get to work on a spring reverb, already, damnit! ;)

And Valhalla DSP continues his total crushing reverb domination :evil:

If I was a dev with a reverb plugin, I would be either scared, or pissed off hahaha.

Congrats!

Bought it tonight.

Absolutely love it.

So smooth, so rich, just perfect Plate sounds. Already using it on drum hits and percussion in a new song. I love how straight forward the interface is, just enough controls to dial in real color, but nowhere near overwhelming; it's super streamlined.

Thanks Sean!

Insta buy. Valhalla never requires demoing. Always great stuff. Thanks Sean, for this. I was looking a long time for a reverb specialized in plates. Great work, great sound... uhm as always with your software :D

Interesting, and serendipitously the section chair is Deckard:

We wondered if you had retired on your reverb riches to a career in full-time music-making.

Oh... and nice reverbskägg!
