Full version of Miroslav Philharmonik 2 is $399.99 on preorder so it is $200 discount vs the full version. If you mean vs SampleTank 3, the full version of that is $349.99 (with a core library of 33GB vs the 45GB of new samples on top of the Miroslav 1 samples updated for the ST3 engine included too).Astralv wrote:Miroslav Philharmonik 2
UPGRADE
from SampleTank 3, SampleTank 3 SE and Miroslav Philharmonik
Download Only
$299.99
$199.99
I have all 3 of these upgradable items, and I still have to pay almost what full version cost? $29 discount is not much. Not happening here.
Plus you can save 30% more if you have accrued JamPoints from your previous purchases mentioned.

but it's 45gig of NEW material, alongside the older stuff. it makes sense for those new to the product that they get to take advantage of all those other soundsneverenoughfunk wrote:i have to give IK Multimedia some credit... it is funny how they get individuals to buy the same samples/patches/material over and over again...Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:Yes, there's 45GB of new material plus the original material is also all included in addition to that.Burillo wrote:does it contain any old sounds?
i find that amazing... i.e. they are laughing all the way to the bank...

They are not part of the new sounds, you can see what sounds are new under "New Instruments" at this link: http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/ph ... ik2-soundsNaoki Ohmori wrote:Correct me if I'm wrong but Percussions are not renewed on Miroslav 2? I can't find that kind of description on IK website. Still I really like Miroslav's strings, brasses or woodwinds but I feel, comparing to other modern libraries, Miro's weak point is percussion such as timpani, cymbal or harp. It's too early to request before the release of Miro 2 but I hope IK to release new percussion libraries for Miro 2 down the road. I think percussions most get benefit from round-robin.
Yes, I can look for them in powered-by Kontakt libraries but hopefully I'd like something recorded in the same place.

It is not built into Miroslav Philharmonik 2. I will relay your suggestion, thank you.teacue wrote:The demos of Miroslav Philharmonik 2 sound good to me.
One question: is there any Divisi feature coming with the new library?
I see no mention of this in the description.

but i own the Mirsoslav Refill and Mirsolav vst... if i brought Mirsoslav 2... i would have brought the same samples/patches/etc... 3 times...
that is my point...
you can look at it differently...
but that is the way i am looking at it...
is that ok with you?

you can't blame anyone else for you buying the same material twice. i think it's fair to say that those version 1 samples make up very little, if anything, of the current pricing. and once you consider that they have considered your having paid for the samples already, as entitlement to a hefty discount, you really are not paying for anything AGAIN !!neverenoughfunk wrote:you are correct...el-bo (formerly ebow) wrote:but it's 45gig of NEW material, alongside the older stuff. it makes sense for those new to the product that they get to take advantage of all those other soundsneverenoughfunk wrote:i have to give IK Multimedia some credit... it is funny how they get individuals to buy the same samples/patches/material over and over again...Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:Yes, there's 45GB of new material plus the original material is also all included in addition to that.Burillo wrote:does it contain any old sounds?

Well there was some reprogramming done for the Miro 1 instruments for the ST3 engine, and there is some behind-the-scenes stuff going on for all of it but I don't know if I'd call it "under the hood scripting". Somewhat related I suppose, the articulations in Miroslav Philharmonik 2 are available either via key switching or also as individual instruments if you prefer to work without key switching.TheoM wrote:Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:It is not built into Miroslav Philharmonik 2. is there any under the hood scripting?
In general (not just pertaining to the quoted message above), this and other information about the sounds can be found at http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/ph ... ik2-sounds

i actually was giving IK Multimedia praise...
i am not sure.... if you disagree with my opinion... why should your opinion carry more weight than mine... why cant i look at the world differently than you... why cant i live my life and you live yours? what is wrong with that train of thought... it is different than yours?
come on... live and let live!!!

For me it works out to:
$199.99 upgrade
minus $50 Jampoints gift
minus $10 of my $82 saved Jampoints.
$139.99 total.
Still a bit more than I prefer to spend on upgrades, but within reason.
As for buying repeated sounds, I prefer to view it as the 45Gb NEW material and now have some of the old content in a new, and one, interface.
I do have to agree with some others though that the demos are less than stellar for the amount and calibre of web content created.
I think IKM could do a better job with their demos. It may entice more sales
So, this is my last to post in this thread. Another IKM thread destined to go where they go it seems.
Cheers!

i own quite a few IK Multimedia products... i.e. really enjoying the iLoud... but there are some forum members that have to be right all the time... and to prove a point... they stretch the truth a little... to get that accomplished...
