If you change the color of the track before creating a new clip, the clips will follow that color. I have my own color scheme for working with different parts (Bass, Vocals, drums, etc...), but unfortunately you can't change the color of the tracks from Push.
For me auto coloring of tracks reminds to keep things organized, whereas before it would be hit and miss... meaning sometime I would color the tracks and sometimes I wouldn't, which could lead to chaotic sets if I didn't bother to clean things up. Now... I'm much better at keeping everything well organized, which is very helpful for tracks left for later.

My thoughts are that it's cool feature, but some of the colours 
. Maschine has a much more sober colour palette lol. But I don't get why the sends and master get coloured as well.

I've often thought the same thing - and I like the adjective "sober". It's hard not to make a neon mess out of Ableton clips. It's nit-picking but I have to guess an easy feature to add more color (compared to, say, latency crap!). The skins are a little less neutral than some might like, but given how the default skins pretty much have that covered, they are a welcome change.
There are some other good skin sets I'll have to look up. I keep forgetting to back up the skin folder before installing updates.

I think I've picked up on it because I'm actually such a fan of the Live interface. Of all the DAW's I really appreciate the design of Live by miles. I find it understated, elegant and functional. So the strange colours really stand out to an otherwise perfect picture from my point of view.
But it's no biggie, a bit of post creation changes to the colours and back in the comfort zone.

As for the Master and returns... I've forgotten... Can't you set these to not auto-color? I believe there's an option for it, but it may require overwriting the default template (via preferences).
I have my returns setup on a custom default template and saved these with specific colors per each type of effect, so the random color does not affect this.
For creative routing, I use other tracks instead of the returns.

Kenobi77, do you have your tix ready? I got tickets for 12/18/15 (a geek mandate) and 12/23/15 (a family affair). Couldn't get any opening night, but I was happy with Friday all the same.

I also think the colors are pretty crap. Especially when you use a dark one and the track header text turns white. They should limit that so that the only available colors are those that work with black text.

Does anyone know how to get the help view of 9.5 back? I closed it and now when I show help view it shows the help of 9 instead of 9.5.
The 9.5 help view had the new stuff and tutorials on convolution pro, etc.
