hey vic, I guess I don't understand this statement. Isn't this a stand alone instrument? And, it looks for like Amplitude than ST from an interface standpoint. Or, are you thinking it runs on the ST engine inside the new interface?vic_france wrote: To remain compatible with SampleTank 3,

It is a funny division.
If I make instruments for ST3 and announce under 'Instruments', it gets moved to 'Samples', even though ST3 is most heavily discussed in 'Instruments'.
If I use samples taken from synthesizers and make Kontakt Synth Instruments and announce in 'Instruments' the thread is moved to 'Samples', even though 99.9999% of all synth discussions occur in 'Instruments'.
Not that I'm complaining since I'm lucky they let me post at all.
Though I consider that I provide the service of testing Peter's patience so the rest of you don't have to.

I have passed your question on and will report back when I get more information. ThanksDarkStar wrote:Peter,

No patience is getting tested in this instance, though, since I'm not OPbigcat1969 wrote:It is a funny division.

The samples were recorded more neutral/dry with the intention of allowing you to use Convo Room to put them in whatever "space" you prefer. The articulation information can be found on the site at http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/philharmonik2/ Hope that helps.TheoM wrote: Ok it's probably not for me then. I am less interested in the "amount" of content and more interested in what the actual ENGINE can do to make playing with a keyboard easy and realistic sounding, as well as if the samples are dry or not. There's none of the info i am really after in this topic or the website, so i would have to literally blindly pay $200 ad not know what I am getting. I'm out. Best of luck with the release

Hi Peter,
I just wanted to ask you about MP2 convolution reverb. MP2's impulse response files are different from those of ST3 or the same?

I have listened to the demos and they do sound somewhat weird to my ears...but...having said that I surely would not be any better. I think that I am worse than that.

Thanks, Theo. I wasn't trying to turn/convert you but wanted to make sure I posted the info in case it was relevant to anybody reading the thread too. Appreciate your input, as always.

Ah I missed one. Unintentional bump, I do hope I get a reply from one of my fans like Peter-IKMultimediaNoid!Naoki Ohmori wrote:Hi Peter,

Anyway, I know it contains the existing IRs and added the graphical representation, but I will check if any others are going to be added as I'm not sure at this point (or whether they'd add them between now and release since that's certainly a possibility with something like the IRs).

I still freaking love the original. I just often get great results with it. I'm definitely interested in the new version, but when I tried to preorder it for $199, I get bumped to a page where I only have two, more expensive, options. I never did like IK's web site, but this is just weird.
