Currently I am plugging my guitar into my daw via a distortion box and recording into my host program.
I am way unsatisfied with the sound...it sounds like major JUNK!
My question is....
Is there anything that can help my situation?
I was looking at the line6 pod and it seemed like it may help with what I am looking for because I dont really have the ability to go with a mic/amp setup at this time.
Are there any good box's out there that have really good rich emulation...either clean or distorted signals?
any help would be appreciated.....
thx

If you don't have one already, get yourself a cheap mixer like the Behringer Eurorack UB802. Then when you want to use other instruments and microphones, you'll at least have a beginner-level gateway.
So far, I always just record my guitar direct from the mixer into the soundcard, and then use Green Machine Amp II for distortion and clean sounds. If you have a bit of money, though, a Pod XT would be a fantastic purchase, or a Behringer V-Amp 2.
Still, although I WANT those things, I haven't needed them yet.
