May we please have the option to install them to the "/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins" folder?

I just notice this. I wish ALL plugins did this because of write permissions. Whatever is in the user folder can be easily moved around to make custom plug in sets and put things in disabled folders.

After SL and prior to Yosemite, OSX actually wouldn't let you move plugins around in the system folders. Now thankfully if you hold the command key down it lets you move them and asks you for your admin password. But on ML and Mavericks i had to force all my plugins to have user wide privileges.

Anyway, i always thought it would be easier to just have them in the user folders myself. Whenever there is a manual install option, i use the user folders. It makes no difference to the DAW I promise, it sees them equally in both (if they are in both it will prioritise the one in the system folder).

Is there a reason you specifically want them in the system folder? My guess is for the exact opposite reason I said, you like them having admin protection?
Ableton Live creates a new folder in the browser for each location, and the extra folder slows things down a bit. It's just a preference, and it would be nice to have the option.

I totally understand your point, and don't disagree with your reasoning. However, the Kilohearts plugins are the only ones in my user folder. They are lonely, which is ironic given the hearts in their name. :)

I can only speak for myself, but I do like them all in one place. And since, like you already mentioned, most installers put them in the system folder, it's where I keep all of them.
But i never had any issues with permissions either. Yes it's a bit annoying to have to type in the password each time, but I only encounter that when deleting demos. Or when moving VSTs that are installed in their own subdirectory (like: blabla/VST/u-he/)(hate that btw).

99€ for the komplete package on pluginboutique - now that are 29 plugs in the bundle, anyone has some experience ?

I have it and like it, you should try the demo. Incidentally, that price sure looks like
an error to me. The works is like $450, 50% of that does != $107

...might jump on that if your interested in it...

Ruh roh, looks like PB halved the price twice.

so i bought without testing the demo, i already have the one, so I believe it's worth 100€.

It's possible that they halved the promo price, I bought 2 years ago waves platinum for 220€, what was also a mistake and half of a half :)

Post

I also purchased without testing - have been very interested in Snapheap for a while... (never came around installing it and the free plugins though for some reason) - I watched some of their videos and totally loved what I saw...

at that price it's a total no-brainer for me - impossible to resist - I hope it's was okay to purchase it and nobody gets fired over this because it's a huge mistake on their part...

any link for the promotion? I saw that the price of The Works is twice than that.

In the post you quoted he writes "on pluginboutique" - if that's really not enough for you, then you won't understand the Snapin concept anyway and should better save your money... :hihi:

Gosh...I've checked in PIB already, of course! no such a deal :x

When i'm searching for a most simplest but with wide dB-range Gain plugin, i saw the kHs Gain and then gave Snap Heap a test. It is amazingly good!

The 4 free fxs: Chorus, Limiter, Gain, and Stereo are very useful.
Only the Delay that not impressed me too much.
So thanks kHs for a great freebies!

Though the AAX is still in beta, but it works great so far. Very light on cpu!

Imo, it just missed some essential features for the AAX :
- PT's "Bypass" button is removed (not available) while it is quite essential to use a Ctrl-click to on/off the plugin for comparison
- No mono version for mono track and the Chorus & Stereo definitely need the mono-to-stereo version.

Just hope the dev see these request :)

They made a mistake on pricing it initially - 50% of 50%. I guess that's now been corrected.

Gosh, it's gone! :x

As guessed, it apparently was a mistake on their part and they fixed it since - now I don't know whether I should feel bad or lucky for getting in in time...

Those things happen occasionally in the wonderful world of on-line commerce.
Consider yourselves lucky, PB will get over it...

That was a killer deal, too bad for me, I already owned it. :(
