If K11 includes Kontakt 6 it may come to be thatHcDoom wrote:If we dont get Absynth 6 with K11, I seriously doubt we will ever see A6.
K12 will include Absynth 6. If K12 does not
include Absynth 6 then will we all toast
the death of Absynth with with a bottle of Absinthe.

- You cannot search patches by name, when you're in the file-browser view.
- You cannot filter or hide patches you don't like.
- You cannot filter by patches you especially like (ie: by rating or by color).
- You cannot rate (or "colorize") patches from the browser (you need to edit it on another page).
- You're restricted to NI's (inadequate) tags. ...which are in fairly arbitrary categories.
- You cannot edit the tags from the browser (again, another page).
- You cannot drag-and-drop between folders (even though it looks like it's dragging something...)
I've not found a perfect patch-browser yet, but Spectrasonics' is clearly the best so far. ...why every developer isn't doing something like this is beyond me. [shrug]
Disclaimer: I am well-known to be a grumpy curmudgeon. Get off my lawn.
And it infuriates me that each time I close the GUI and reopen it (or the DAW does when going to a different track and back) the browser is back at the "view all" state instead of where I left. Sometimes it happens even if I just look at the patch page to see how a preset works.
Makes looking through presets a major pain...
Give this a new GUI and some quality enhancements in the algorithms + some Alchemy-like stuff and have a very nice flagship Synth again...
I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Cheers,
Tom

I hope I'm wrong but I don't think there is\will be something new outside Kontakt, Reaktor and Machine environments.
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

THIS is the one thing I want addressed. I love the technology of this, but the zooming is not well-designed. I use some pretty long envelopes and it became a real job. It SEEMS like something changed but my memory is shot for some things.dayjob wrote:i've always hated the way the envelopes work. all the clicking and zooming etc. it's cumbersome and slow for me so i tend to just not use absynth too much.

Personally, I find the zooming feature of Absynth ingenious.jancivil wrote:but the zooming is not well-designed.
Any examples (other synths) that does this better?

But, what if they broke Absynth up into blox, and launched it for Reaktor 6.Neon Breath wrote:So waaaay overdue that logically it probably never will!
To me it seems like a logical progression to step up to the next level. Go from semi-modularity to true modularity.
