Are there any fade handles in the sample editor area or you have to do the destructive fade in and out?

Quite crowded as the default UI size is 1244 x 750, so depending on the size of the header of your plugin format, you can miss some height.
You can toggle off left and right panel to gain some width though (down to 734) but you will lose some ergonomy doing so.

thanks, should be manageable for Ableton LIVE ... I guess the gui will come from the top of the screen right down to the taskbar ? (win 7)

width isn't the biggest concern, since you can grab the plugin header and move the plugin GUI left and right to temporarily compensate for any cutoff. annoying but it works. height is a bigger problem since you can't grab the plugin header and take the mouse past the top of the screen to gain access to the bottom of the GUI. That I know of. even if you could, it would be problematic grabbing it again (at the header) to take it down.

if someone could take a screen shot of the plugin at this resolution, on win7, it would be helpful I'm sure. especially without a demo.

Yes, fade handles appear once you've set the loop to crossfade (does not work in granular mode), the sgement left of the loop start point is the portion available for crossfade looping. So the longer crossfades you want, the more you have to move the loop start into the sample. There are handles and also you can edit the slope of the xfade when hovering over the crossfade zone, a “hand“ tool will appear.

Thanks Simon for the info thats very useful and good to know.

I'm using one shot drum samples and looking for a way to shorten and fade out but doesn't look like it can be done non destructively...maybe except for using an envelope and trying to get the right timing

Well, envelopes don't apply in one-shot mode as the sample will always play to end at full volume, so setting the release to very long might help, then you can still use the ADS parameters.

I second that query.
You mean the fit screen size which is not really full screen ?
In that case, this is tricky, because we don't have the info of the size of the OS toolbar and the size of some DAW plugin window header, so we compute this with some room.
In SA you can easily use the Window expand button but in Plugin this is trickier.
I've a problem when running standalone Falcon with OSX 10.11.1, Falcon main menu is under the top OSX menubar, I can just about click the bottom pixels of a button if I know what they are. Reinstall didn't seem to change or doing a resize (big/small/fit). It works fine in a DAW so not a killer but a bit of a pain.

Edit: Fixed it with grabbing bottom of window frame and dragging window to side, back in standalone action! :)
Do you know how you managed to move it below the OS X menu bar?
yeah, just 'grab' the centre part of the bottom of window frame when cursor changes to up/down resize arrow, click and hold but drag more sideways than up/down. It takes a couple of attempts but it should move the whole frame when you get it just right. HTH
Nice description!

I have 66 samples in 3 velocity layers. I'd like to map the playback starting position to, say, the mod wheel.
So I used the IRCAM Scrub oscillator to get access to the position.
But I don't see any way to do this for all samples at once.
What am I missing? Surely I don't need to map every sample one-by-one?

You can't batch edit things on oscillator level. So if you do patches like that, assign all modulations first, then duplicate the keygroup and exchange the sample - double click on keygroup, browser opens, locate new sample double click again.

Advantages of a forum here for UVI would be to share info about their existing UVI workstation range as well as other libraries for Falcon down the line. Its actually quite difficult to get info on a lot of the existing UVI libraries from a user standpoint.

There is so much info in this thread alone that is nearly impossible to find easily.

I really believe the potential for Falcon is huge, with Relayer also UVI has really stepped up their game.

Go on Olivier, you know it makes sense.

Greetings Hauke!

Still no "FeelYourSound" sub-forum on KVR yet, huh? You may want to send another gentle reminder to Ben.

Cheers.
Tony

No, there is still no sub-forum :/. I sent a reminder to Ben. However, in the last weeks the KVR staff installed a big note in the developer dashboard that forum applications are being processed with a very low priority - if at all.

Best,
Hauke

Requesting a sub-forum is easy. The wait can take months. I tried to help another set of devs get a forum here; they finally did get one after a very long waiting period.

Rule is: you can't have one here if you have one on your site. UVI could have one right now on their own site.

This forum topic seems to come up in circles, about half way through this thread Olivier clearly stated he doesn't want a KVR forum, use the “search topic“-function at the top right of this thread and enter “forum“ to read this.

@Sampleconstruct,

Right, but this is the thread we know they are reading, and it's important for them to know that folks want a dedicated forum! The whole thread goes in circles, right? That's why the "+1 for forum" comments are coming in, IMO.

Sure, just go ahead, I just don't think insisting on this idea will change UVI's mind, so all the letters invested in those +1-posts are lost and the thread gets filled with more noise than necessary.
