I have been reading up on a lot of effects recently after getting down the basics of my new DAW and would love to see what is your go to VST plugin! It's always interesting and informative to see what other people use!

You know I've been using the Plug&Mix Dimension 3D quite a bit..synth bass, pads, keys, electro percussion, etc. So easy to dial in just the right amount of chorus.
Also the P&M Digital Reverb, Analoger, Stereolizer (often useful in front of D3D), and Multi-Tap Delay when I need a ... er... multi-tap delay.
The thing I like about them is.. well they sound pretty good, of course... but I can pretty quickly plop them in a track and twist one or two knobs to get a go-to sound I'm looking for.

You need to limit that rez, bro.

EQ and volume control(for volume automation).
This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here?

Slate VMR, Slate VBC, T-Racks, Melda, TB, Sonimus...but that's still a lot....i don't have ONLY 1...P&M VIP too.
As far as synths go, there is few too, always starting with Reaktor, Diva, SM, Prologue or Blue 2.
If you go for certain tasks then i have few...Reverb is always EA and now Reverberate too.
And of course the FIRST, Second and last Plugin on ANYthing is Nebula...that's a given.
But there is ONLY one that is on EVERY single track, no matter what. Klanghelm Meter.

When I start mixing and need to find spectral spaces for different instruments, I use Fabfilter ProQ 2 in conjunction with BlueCat FreqAnalyst Multi. Helps find the collisions. Any of the Valhalla verbs are likely to make it into every project too.

I don`t have any one go to VST(i). I like to lend it to the wind when I start something.
I do always start with my stacker host called Chainer well before I open a seqr.

These threads are getting more and more f**king hilarious round here
What's next?? What's your go to finger when you click your mouse? What's your go to coffee mug when you're getting your dubstep on?? What's your go to double click speed when you open your DAW??

The best VST on every project is the one that I dont have to use because everything is OK with the sound sources themselves.Joshgermon wrote:I have been reading up on a lot of effects recently after getting down the basics of my new DAW and would love to see what is your go to VST plugin! But you should probably first distinguish between creative and obligatory plugs ( like a workhorse HP shelving EQ thing will probably be almost obligatory if you process several real intruments recordings having to sit well together in a mix )
Creative things can be almost 'anything', depending on what you want/desire/need. And this can be project dependant as well
Obligatory plugs (space/reverbs, EQs, dynamics) will also be project dependant ( you'll probaly want a different comp if you process a metal guitar, or a natural soft female voice whispering in your ears )
Well ........ it doesn't help that much I'm afraid
You can also search for 'best reverb' 'best eq" 'goto comp" in the Kvr forum. *best* doesnt exist, but it might give you some ideas on what is popular, or less ( though *popular* and *best* are different stories but well ....) My 0.002 kopecks.
