The only plugin that I have found a use for in every completed project is Voxengo's SPAN

MagicAB. Much rather hear other people's music than mine. ;)

I must agree with Lotuzia and say my go-to plugin no matter what I'm working on is definitely none. Meaning, there will never be some plugins that would always be there, it depends on what is needed in each case.

Seriously.

For me, my go to vst is easily narrowed down to about a hundred or two hundred options, depending on what i am trying to accomplish.

PS. The Wire really is the most important plug in ever made. I bought about 50 or 60 so far and my sound has improved considerably.

If you don't mind, please clarify how they complement each other so perfectly....

Live rooms tend to hide certain kinds of distortion beneath an ever-present layer of diffuse noise. Anechoic rooms, on the other hand, reveal every detail of a sound and lack the diffusion properties that can smear noise and artifacts into an unpleasant, but who's detail is hard to track, higher noise floor. In short, in many situations it can be difficult to separate bit level phase distortions from other artifacts, but your recordings will not achieve the level of sonic perfection that is not only possible, but necessary to compete in today's music marketplace.

The wire helps reduce and eliminate these distortions by ensuring perfect phase alignment at a bit level. There is no other tool like The Wire and when combined with the Anechoic Room Simulator you will experience the most pristine sound technologically possible.

Thank you for sharing your vast knowledge. Your intelligent, technically detailed descriptions of these Go-To VSTs are the perfect companion to other equally useful but more gut-level descriptions like "this plugin gives me a boner."

I fully agree with subterfuge and Lotuzia.

Most of FX I use, I always use. Vienna Suite Hybrid Reverb, EQ, compressor, Master EQ. Near certainty of VS Exciter. IKMM 670 Vintage comp or whatever the exact name is for a colored rounding or vocal type boost. Occasionally there is additional processing. I like the NI Softube and for the heavier guitar I recently adopted the original Softube Metal Room.

I have Reaper's shortcut in the taskbar, so I only need one click :P

Really, I suppose I use Hybrid 3 in all my projects, it's so versatile when you know how to use it...
