Hi guys, I try this fantastic sofware at friends home and relaly is nice but I want to use to generate piano rave riffs and EDM & Future House melodies, is possible?
Here some examples:
Piano Rave Riffs:
Future House melodies:
Also I have several midi packs with this style music but I don't know if possible save these midi files as Custom Phrases to generate new melodies, is possible? My friend does not know because isn't his style.
best regards and thank you in advance

Hi coolstuff. Welcome to the forum!
Yes, it is quite possible to develop all styles with Rapid Composer. It will take a bit to get used to the program but once you do the sky is the limit
Take a look at this thread to see what one user (yellukhan) can do with Rapid Composer (he is QUITE TALENTED
) :
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 8&t=401024
Now, while the phrases in that thread are more to the cinematic, you can see the similarities in the staccato phrases yellukhan has developed, to the rave music you wish to create.
As for the use of MIDI files, Rapid Composer makes the best use of MIDI's and it is easy to develop phrases from MIDI files.
I recommend download the demo and give RC a test drive to know for certain if it is for youi. I'm sure you will find it very useful in your work.
Cheers!

Thank so much for the answer friend, is really useful
I found a post about the Eurodance music and the bassline Custom Phrases include in the post works fine for the bassline in my style but I need to found anything related to the piano rave chords also and in the forum don't found nothing
Anyone know how I can get to generate piano rave chord progressions? or maybe import my piano rave chord progressions in midi and create new progressions from them?

btw. do not get confused about progression and phrase
for the progression you have to prepare the master track chords to your needs...
from scratch or you can use RC's progression database as a start point...
or you can import midi files for example piano or pad track that contains chord progression...
...
you can also drag and drop directly to RC channels if the midi file is single track,
and let the RC analyze and replace master track chords.

Also, is possible change the project scale? If I prefer Amin and have in the project Cmin, is possible update?

phrases should work on any scale Major or Minor,
i have no knowledge about theoretical part of music but this is the first thing i learned:
C Maj Scale = A Minor (Relative Minor )
C# Maj = A# Min (" " )
D Maj " = B Minor (" ")
...
F Major = D Minor ( " " ) so on
so if something work on this traditional 7 note Major scales it should work also relative Minor scales too
extra info:
i am Reaper user and it has "Scale Finder"
i always use for important stuff
(for example if i want to import midi files Scale Based instead of chord based or if i import chord progression midi file)
to see midi file in which scale... then import to RC.
i hope it helps.

Only have the last question, I start a project in Amin for example, and import a midi with a piano chords form my libraries but this midi file don't adapt to the key of the project, continues in the original key, is possible convert this midi file to the project key? (Amin for example).
As you explain is easy import a midi file and covert all the project to the midi file key, but at inverse possible? I have tried in different ways and have failed
And the other question, I see in your videos when youu drop a phrase to the RC project, set the arrow on the right side and extend it to all compasses but I try to get and is impossible, the phrase does not extend to all bars, only stretched and lengthened the notes, I need combine any keyboard shortcut with the mouse?
cheers

Hi,
p1:
as i know no..
but, there is a workaround that you can use:
create an extra "Part/Line" in your project and use this area for import your midi files only...
drag the midi file there change Part's Scale to match to your midi file and convert to relative form...
now you can move this phrase to your main A minor part easily and it will adopt to chords...
think this area is your sketchpad you can use many time to import midi files...
only thing you need to know is Scales of the Midi Files.
...
p2:
make sure "Repeat" selected in Phrase Resize mode...

btw.
i just realized there was a problem with my "CHROMAT" chord trick...
(i assume you remember from the Rave piano video)
RC uses it with "MIDI Import" if Analyze and Convert selected ...its horrible to hear this fake chord's audition
anyway,
simply just delete after use and re-create when you need it.
