I went in search of mp3's of SampleTank 2 XL and notice that when I go to the SampleTank 2 home page, http://www.sampletank.com/Main.html?prod_ST_XL I get about 25 pop up errors.

Anyone else have this problem? I do use the EarthLink pop up blocker but am not sure this would cause the error. I think half the world uses pop up blockers.

I would not blame SampleTank.com. Most likely the pop-ups you are getting are the result of ad spyware that was downloaded on your computer without your knowledge. Freebie sites and Peer-to-Peer sites like Kazaa will often download and install software on your computer that tracks the sites you visit and sends pop-up ads, redirects you to other sites and can change your browser's home page and favorites. Most often, software downloaded this way is adware whose purpose is to enable to company that installed it to sell ads to other companies. However, it may also be malicious and install a virus.

Try downloading spyware removers like Spybot or Webroot Spy Sweeper. Better yet, download and run both of them (at separate times). Some spyware is extremely difficult to get off your computer. It is not as simple as removing legitimate software.

Last note. There is a disturbing advertising trend. Some large marketers are using these ad spyware networks. I would recommend that you avoid marketers that use these tactics. It is my desire that this type of downloading of software without a user's consent is outlawed in the U.S. (where I live) and throughout the world.

It is not advertising pop-ups that cause the problem, it is the practice of building web pages that use pop-up windows and then pull them into a plain. If not done with care it can conflict with some pop-up blockers and some versions of IE-6. That seems to be the case here. I opened a few of the errors in Visual Studio and the problem is a clash between the page and my Earthlink pop-up blocker. Sometimes Ebay or Yahoo will cause a single error when I go to those pages, but nothing like this. Errors pop up as fast as I can close them.

PS: I have ZoneAlarm, full version, which I really like and recommend to anyone and everyone.
