Or buy them slowly, which I think is the idea. Some libraries' entire set of contents is essentially what you get in SE vol1 and maybe vol1 plus.

Thanks for your suggestion. I'm going to subscribe to EW Composer Cloud in conjunction with MP2 and then slowly build up my library. Say, purchasing Impact Soundworks Brass, Embertone Solo strings or Cinematic strings 2. :)

No it's not. You already have a good set with the SE and with the plus you have even more which really should be enough for most people. But that is not the point, if you could buy it as whole package right from the start only it would cost you much more. What if you don't need those articulations? You paid for something you not use. I can't see why this should be better then how they do now. Now that would be really a "trap".
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

Well, there's no comparison of VI Pro 2 with anything IK. The VI Standard player blows most things out of the water, albeit Soundiron has come up with some powerful interfaces with Kontakt recently.

Well, I studied the articulations list. Pound for pound, VSL SE Vol 1 = Miroslav 2. For now, yes 199 is better than 300. The list is ($299) about the same money. I don't know I can trust the articulations, and I'm pretty sure the interface of Vienna Instruments beats IK hands down. So, when a person is needing more articulation and more power, they spend the money. For my money, EWQL is not in the same league because of the serious approach and the cogency of VSL. Some users here are put off by the slagging of Miroslav, as unreasonable. It had that rep ten yrs ago, though. Now they see a more sophisticated market with dollar signs in their eyes. At the stated, real price point (is it a ruse?), they'd be competing directly with VSL, and no.

This is a $499 product if you don't own Miroslav 1.

Is that right? Jesus, it isn't even remotely competitive then. @ 500 bucks you're getting into a serious area... My price for VSL SE 1 Bundle, incl. the "PLUS" is 495 euro. 525 USD at the moment. The VSL tends to get quite rich in articulation at the PLUS or 'Extended' price point.

The product page says $299, $199 for the pre-order. I imagine it will be on sale often enough or other promotions like gear credit discounts bringing it back down.

Wait, edit that, that is for an upgrade from other IK stuff, so yeah, $499. But anyone that actually pays full price for IK stuff isn't paying much attention and probably doesn't know the difference.
If you have requests for Korg VST features or changes, they are listening at https://support.korguser.net/hc/en-us/requests/new

honestly, at 499$ is completely out of range, considering what other libraries for the same price tag offer in comparison.
i have doubt even upgrading at 199$, considering what i have recently understood about legato handling...

I'm not here to rag on IK. I think this is a good product. But to be competitive in the market it should be about $200 cheaper. At $299 new it would be the same price as Film Score Companion (another product which sounds better than the demos would have you believe)

excited about this! the previous library was super playable.

indeed, for 499 you can get Komplete 10 wich includes quite enough good VSL library + session strings + session horns. Also galore of synths. And if its on 50% off you get Action strings, action strikes, session strings pro and so on...

...or you could look for someone selling Philharmonik in the classifieds... and upgrade that copy. Guessing it would be a total of $200 to $220 for the whole cost.
