I'm a pretty big fan of the Swedish band Andromeda. They're eager to release a live album, and they used PledgeMusic for funding it. It's currently at 58% with 29 days left.

If anyone is even remotely interested in prog metal, I have to suggest their II=I album is an absolute must listen! It's the album that got me into their music and to this day one of better examples of how prog metal could be done (and by that, I don't mean Dream Theateresque mid-song wankfests, Andromeda sure has technicalities in their songwriting, but nothing as blatant as how DT can do it to mess up the song flow...)

Well that's about it. Please help these guys if you like some of the stuff you hear from them on Youtube or the like. I'd really hate to see this unfunded.

(Disclaimer: I am in no way affiliated to the band. Just a fan.)

Amazing response here...

Love classic rock and some past pop music. Have a few Dream Theater tracks in my collection.

But hey, right now at 77 percent with 6 days left... looks like a success to me, even at this point.

It's been at 57% for over a month, so right now even at 81% it might still not go through. I really hope that it does...

By unfunded do you mean that the donators get their money back? Even if 99 percent of the goal was reached?

Yep, that's what's mentioned in the last post on the pledge campaign page... :(

ED, thanks for turning me onto these guys. I like :tu:

The argument over the propriety of crowd-funding musicians is off-topic and disruptive (not to mention way too personally abusive), so I've split it to a separate thread. [edit: Just noticed there was already a separate thread so I've merged the split posts into it.]

Please reserve this thread for discussing the topic, not trying to torpedo the OP's effort. Thanks.

Unlocked, after asking the OP. I didn't realize EvilDragon had locked the thread before I made the split.

That's a bit like Deja Vu :o

I just bought II=I this weekend, it was in the bargain bin of a second hand store, I liked the sleeve, so I went for it

Andromeda is a cool band. I wish I could have been able to get one of their CD's here.
