Phewww...what a ride! Really some outstanding pieces in there! I have way too many 5s, I'm afraid, haha...

Are we suppose to announce when we voted? If so, voted.

This synth sounds better then most synths imo! Something about the tone is better.

And at the risk of sounding cliche... lots of great tracks and good work all around... some just blew me away... this was possibly my favorite round to date (and that makes five for me).

Thanks to all participants for making such a nice listening experience. Great to listen wide variety of music.

When I listened my track at last, I could figure out where do I stand. :embarrassed:  It reflects lack of experience perhaps skill too. I'll test myself for two more months.

Thanks to bjporter for managing this even nicely.. this month too. And yes without forgetting...thanks to prize donators.

Regards,
Dee.P.Tree :hail:

Thanks to everyone who listened and commented on my track, I much appreciate your feedback :)

Voting was hard! Loads of great stuff you made, and some tracks I will definitely listen to long after the challenge is over...

This is a great group and it's awesome that it is open to new people like myself. Cheers to all and good luck.

I'm pretty new here and I don't know if this sensitive subject has been raised before but if you have a suspicion an entry has possibly infringed/bent the rules, would you reflect that in your voting?

As OXE doesn't use samples, the only rules I can see being violated are either the use of modulation FX like chorus or submitting a non original piece. Either way, yes, you can reflect this in your voting if you wish. You're allowed to vote any way you like and don't even have to give reasons for the scores you give. There are people here who give 1s and 2s to almost every track.

Vote as you see fit.

If you think an entry explicitly broke the rules - e.g. using samples, you should report it to Brian (bjporter), he can always request the project file, check and disqualify if so. If there's a 'gray area' you have the right to reflect in scores when voting, for example... the use of effects falls into that category to some degree, though it's been a longstanding debate how much are 'allowed' and there isn't a clear line in the sand... that falls entirely on you to judge.

In addition to replies of wag and z, you may contact the participants, too.

Best way is reporting to moderator, IMHO.

Well earlier in this thread I asked about the use of freeware filters and the response appeared to imply that this was generally NOT okay unless the use is as an EQ although it seems a grey area, so I'm not quite sure where to go here.
I don't really want to get all anal about "the rules" but then again seems there should be a level playing field.

You can freely use filters/eq.
